- WWE 2K22 feels even better than its predecessor after it had most of its flaws fixed. The only things dragging down the experience are the visual bugs, which ruin the immersion rather quickly. Luckily, these bugs are not too annoying. All in all, the developers have listened to their fans, which led to the creation of an even better WWE game that will definitely satisfy both fans of the series and newcomers.
Nickskuh · Apr 18, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - WWE 2K22 does have a card-based deckbuilding game mode, and one of the only ways to get new cards is by purchasing them outright. The only justification for this not being pay-to-win is that the player only gains an advantage against the game's AI, rather than against a fellow human player.
Dan Lenois · Apr 10, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - WWE 2K22 is a bold step forward for Visual Concepts, but not one without a few pesky issues holding it back. This the most content we've ever seen in a WWE game in a very long time, and it's great that there's so much to do and sink your teeth into that will make your purchase worth it.
Sam Aberdeen · Mar 23, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Overall, WWE 2K22 is jam-packed with content, and it represents a significant step forward in terms of graphics and quality when compared to its predecessors. However, there are also significant flaws in the game especially when it comes to multiplayer matches, but a solid groundwork has surely been laid for the future WWE games of this series.
RON · Mar 21, 2022 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - WWE 2K22 is the comeback that the series needed to put itself back on everyone’s radar once again. The game’s amazing presentation and fluid gameplay are exactly what the doctor ordered to make such a solid and enjoyable experience. 2K delivered on all of their promises making WWE 2K22 a instalment that “Hits Different”.
Varno Harris · Mar 20, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - The actual in-ring gameplay is solid, and MyGM mode is a little addictive slice of management. I want to be hopeful and believe that 2K and Visual Concepts will take the foundation they created and finally build a wrestling game that doesn’t just feel like a bunch of compromises. However, that’s exactly what I’ve wanted for years, but they just keep hitting the same.
Zoey Handley · Mar 19, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Most importantly I expected some big improvements, and while some of the items here definitely meet that qualification the game is still stuck in a rut with respect to AI and physics/clipping issues. There’s talk that WWE may look to partner with EA on future games, so this may be the last go around for the team at 2K, but if it’s not I hope that their focus for WWE 2k23 will be on fixing some of these issues so that the solid base they’ve built can actually live up to its potential. Hopefully I’m not revisiting that sentence again next year.
Ryan · Mar 18, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - WWE is a company focused on personality, and it’s important to get things like this right. Again, 2K has had a long time to improve aspects like this, and it doesn’t seem able to, for whatever reason. It just ends up feeling sloppy in the end.
Ian Dransfield · Mar 18, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - WWE 2K22 is a solid effort that overcomes the problems of past years with ease, even if it will only appeal to a certain breed of wrestling fan.
Alex Santa Maria · Mar 17, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - There are still failings when it comes to multi-person matches, and not all of the new modes are particularly engaging, but 2K22 establishes a solid foundation for the future. Ideally, WWE will calm down when it comes to gutting its roster, and the next game in the series won't feel quite as outdated. It will also be interesting to see how Yuke's upcoming AEW game fares. Competition can only be a good thing.
