  • Wrestling is a soap opera. Good stories are an integral part of the experience. WWE 2K15 doesn't measure up in this regard, nor provide compelling modes. The combat has a lot of thought put into it, perhaps a promising foundation for future titles.

  • Again, this lack of attention to detail outside of the ring is what holds WWE 2K15 back from ‘must-buy’ status. 2K has welcomed modding and no doubt the oversights regarding Rollins and company will be rectified by the community, but it shouldn’t be up to you and me to bring it up to snuff. There’s plenty of promise in this PC debut, yet it’s impossible to play it without constantly thinking that the number 15 in the title is exactly a year out of date.

  • All in all, if you’re a die-hard fan you’re probably going to buy this, and may have already. The graphics won’t disappoint, and if you’ve stayed away from the series and are just returning now, you may even be blown away.

  • WWE 2K15 does offer more than merely a better-looking version of its last-generation counterpart. But it fails to fix legacy problems, and its efforts to try something new are largely unsuccessful. This package might have been acceptable, or at least understandable, as a new-generation launch title. But one year into the new console generation, WWE 2K15 is a disappointing effort that makes for a shaky foundation going forward.

  • If I had to compare WWE 2K15 to the current in-ring product, I would call it the Roman Reigns of wrestling games. It has the visuals and the feel of what you expect a powerhouse to have but when you take a closer look, you realize that it’s mostly just potential for the future, as it only has a handful of moves that truly set it apart.

  • Despite great advances in graphical fidelity and core gameplay, there’s not enough here to make up for WWE 2K15’s stripped back features, teensy roster, and mind numbing My Career mode. The series’ PS4 debut is very much a case of one step forward, two steps back – and while it lays the groundwork for a great game, 2K Sports has a lot of work to do to unlock it.

  • Graphically, I didn’t play the last-gen versions so I’m unable to compare the two, but WWE 2K15 does look decent on PS4. ...WWE 2K15 definitely falls flat in most areas. The roster is outdated, the gameplay slow, and the modes lackusters; but, there's a lot of potential. With the addition of MyCareer mode, we have foundation that can be expanded upon.

  • Neither great nor terrible, WWE 2K15 is truly divisive. ...WWE 2K15 steps away from that methodology, and in turn delivers a much more deliberately-paced game, and one that is more intent on providing an authentic, one-to-one recreation of the drama that goes down in the squared circle. Its methodical pacing will put some off, but those wanting a wrestling match simulator will welcome 2K15 with open arms.

  • WWE 2K15 has made a lot of sacrifices for little gain. The depleted roster, stripped-back creation suite and restrictive wrestling all in the name of a visual upgrade fail to capture the most important aspects of the real-world franchise: excitement and entertainment.

They’re on to a great idea with the Showcase modes. and could potentially flesh out the Career Mode into something great. As it stands right now its a solid if unspectacular debut on the new generation of consoles. Who knows though, the wrestling industry is full of people who turned unspectacular debuts into international superstardom. It just takes putting it all together.
