- The bottom line is that I play games to have fun. While I found the handling and tracks fun, I have no desire to play a game whose difficulty curve turns it into a second job because it demands near-perfection from the outset. Chances are, if this game is for you, you've already bought it.
Blake Peterson · May 10, 2013 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - It's commendable that WRC 3 aims to give a full rally experience – complete with the need to repair cars between stages - and not dilute it with other forms of off-road racing. Despite this commitment to the sport and the fact that the game has some fun moments, its middling execution only goes so far.
Matthew Kato · Mar 29, 2013 Reviewed on PS3 - WRC3’s excellent track design counts for little when burdened with unnatural car handling and uninspired design.
Phil Savage · Dec 30, 2012 Reviewed on PCRead full review - WRC 3: FIA World Rally Championship has more than enough content to keep you busy with its 83 tracks, 50 drivers, and 37 cars. But, despite being the official game of the World Rally Championship, it has many issues that strip away its authenticity – the most problematic of which being poor track feedback.
Greg Giddens · Oct 22, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Handling aside, the biggest problem WRC 3 presents is that it doesn’t feel like it has any new ideas. From the rewind feature made famous by Codemasters’ racing efforts to the general lack of evolution for the series, it feels like a game made to satisfy licensor demands. It’s a bland and perfunctory experience, one that won’t offend anyone but is incapable of delighting anyone either.
Matt Kamen · Oct 15, 2012 Reviewed onRead full review - While there's no lack of passion for the subject, and there are some neat ideas on show, WRC 3's problems are in the execution. Tighter graphics, improved game modes, and more race types would help things greatly, as would a more refined handling model. As it stands, the series is the best it has ever been, but it's still not quite good enough.
Gamespot Staff · Oct 12, 2012 Reviewed on PCRead full review - FIA World Rally Championship 3 is definitely the game to look to this year for those looking for something to satisfy the need for a new dirt-track style off-road racer. The lack of split-screen multiplayer is a drawback, some of the differing terrain types seem too similar in feel, and sometimes the physics can be a little too harsh for what is after all a videogame, but as far as 'real' racers go, this is definitely one that should at least be taken for a spin.
Adam Riley · Nov 13, 2013 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - It's enough to send you packing to the bare-bones official WRC part of the package, making this in every way a trademark Milestone game: competent and faithful but lacking the kind of thought and polish that could make it really worthwhile. Right now it's arguably the game that the WRC deserves, but whether it deserves your own time and effort is another matter altogether.
Martin Robinson · Oct 16, 2012 Reviewed on X360Read full review - Without any visible reinvention or revolution, WRC 3 is left looking embarrassingly dated. ....
