- Ultimately, Without Escape is a sad shadow of a genre from the past. Point-and-click adventure games fell from favor years ago due to progressing technology. Some of the originals of the escape room genre may soon be lost to time (due to Adobe's support of Flash ending in a few months). Now kids can play Roblox with a quick download and Minecraft on a web browser.
Joseph Doyle · May 27, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Without Escape has some great ideas and at times keeps you on your toes, but unfortunately doesn’t offer much in the way of excitement or thrill, at times feeling more like having a read through the family photo album.
Jamie Baldock · Jan 22, 2020 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Truthfully, I can’t really recommend Without Escape. But I’m not saying that because I found the game to be objectively “bad”. It’s not bad, it’s just… old. And I don’t mean old in the retro way. Some games just don’t age well, and Without Escape, try as it might, is one of those games. If you’re looking for a short, classically inspired point-and-click game, then maybe you’ll end up meshing well with this game. It isn’t terribly expensive, either. However, for those expecting a PnC with a bit more gravitas, this might not be worth your time.
Kenny McKee · May 09, 2018 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Unfortunately, Without Escape: Console Edition on Xbox One fails to deliver a worthwhile experience for either keen point and clickers or horror enthusiasts. The only people who’d probably be happy to pay a few quid are Achievement hunters, due to the relatively easy 1000 Gamerscore. Everyone else should steer clear.
James · Jan 27, 2020 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Without Escape is the perfect dish for those hungry for classic 1990s puzzle adventures like Zork, Myst, et al. It does not over-complicate matters by bogging players down with convoluted puzzles, instead focusing on streamlining the experience and delivering a haunting setting that will stick in the mind long after completion. Hopefully now this has been polished to perfection, Bumpy Trail will work on a successor.
Adam Riley · Apr 29, 2018 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Το ίδιο άψυχο αποδεικνύεται τελικά και το σύνολο του τίτλου.
