  • At its core, WILL: A Wonderful World is a story about potential and continuing hope, even in the face of horrible and traumatic adversity. That is a message we could all use.

  • Overall, WILL: A Wonderful World serves a specific audience well, providing a solid core experience for people who like reading intense stories. As the game itself suggests, it should be played with headphones on, in a comfortable position, so it’s a shame the entire game isn’t playable with touch controls only.

  • I did enjoy how the stories intertwined with one another, but there were also times when I wouldn’t get a letter from one character for hours and it would be hard to pick up where his or her story left off. Before picking this one up, be aware that it’s essentially a novel with multiple characters and various endings to discover to move the overall story forward. I’m thinking to myself: it is a wonderful world, but not necessarily a wonderful game.

  • WILL: A Wonderful World is a solid addition to the Switch’s undersupplied library of visual novels. The core text moving mechanic is surprisingly engaging, but the consistent focus on some of humanities worst aspects gets a bit much after a while.

  • Instead of the traditional crossroads of visual novels, WILL: A Wonderful World lets you play with a bunch of separate stories by altering specific parts within them... and then doing so again to follow an alternative path. This intriguing mechanic isn't as good as it sounds, though, and the game is in some dire need for some additional artwork. At least the various plot threads are good enough to make this a pleasant recommendation for genre fans.

Become a god and help change the fate of people, even the world! In WILL: A Wonderful World, you will receive letters written by characters living in urban cities.
