  • Wildfrost is highly recommended, especially if you're a fan of the genre. The fun visuals will draw you in, but the addicting gameplay will keep you there. Just be prepared to die, a lot.

  • Wildfrost is a high-quality roguelike deck-builder that expands on the usual formula of the genre with interesting new mechanics like card timers, and the ability to reposition units on the field.

  • Wildfrost is a gorgeously designed and brutally unforgiving roguelike deck-builder that tasks you with putting an end to an eternal frost. The strategic depth and replayability factor alone make the premium price worth it - add to that the possibility of encountering a naked gnome and it might just be a no-brainer for you.

  • I know Wildfrost will not be for everyone, and I’d have that caveat with my recommendation, but it is a “free to try" game on iOS, so there’s no real reason to not download it and give it a shot. I think it is more than worth its asking price on iOS, and it is immediately one of the best mobile releases of 2024 so far. While I am glad I finally played it, I’m annoyed I wasn’t obsessing over it last year when it debuted on Switch and Steam. I have rectified my mistake at least with this new port. Go download Wildfrost right now.

  • There is an extremely high bar set for roguelites on mobile--particularly deckbuilding ones--and Wildfrost manages to clear it despite some pain points in its design. This is thanks mostly due to the game's impeccable style that makes spending more time with it a complete delight.

  • Wildfrost is a brilliant little deck builder that manages to both frustrate and charm in equal measure. Its magnificently moreish yet maddening gameplay loop makes it a perfect fit for mobile, and its intuitive yet punishing mechanics offer heaps of replayability, making it well worth the premium entry fee.

  • Among deckbuilders, Wildfrost certainly doesn’t disappoint. It’s fun, addictive, and honestly too cute for words. With its lovely visual style and upbeat soundtrack, even losing isn’t something you can be mad about. Just prepare to lose a lot. As far as roguelike deckbuilders go, this one is a lot of fun.

  • Wildfrost takes the core ideas of the very popular card-driven genre and makes enough changes to add freshness to it. It does take some time to unlock all the town buildings and the three tribes that can provide leaders and cards. But once that happens, the game offers a wide range of tactical options and it’s fun to discover how various combinations will perform against the capable bosses.

  • Wildfrost is a coin with two distinct faces, ever spinning through the air, taking you on an emotional journey that spans laughter and loathing, agony and ecstasy, often in the course of a single battle. How the coin lands will determine your success in Wildfrost, but it’s the light catching on both sides while it’s in flight that will, ultimately, determine your enjoyment of it.

  • Admittedly, I’m not the most skilled gamer, so I typically only play games that I can enjoy when I’m losing or doing poorly. And Wildfrost is one of those games… to a point. Players who can get past the first boss will have plenty more fun, but the restart system nearly frustrated me before I could get there.
