- Where Shadows Slumber is an eerie and challenging indie puzzle game where we manipulate shadows to escape captivity and – hopefully - free our soul.
CaptainQQ · Jan 09, 2022 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Despite this shortcoming, I was never bored and often found myself surprised with the puzzles and twists & turns of the story in Where Shadows Slumber. I spent a little under 5 hours playing Game Revenant’s inaugural indie title from start to finish and I loved every minute of it. If you own a phone and have even a passing affection for puzzle games, you should definitely pick it up – no doubt about it.
Robert N. Adams · Nov 27, 2018 Reviewed on AndRead full review - It’s unfortunate because Where Shadows Slumber gets a lot of things right. The pace is pretty good, the game looks and sounds great, and on an individual level some of the puzzles are fun to untangle. The games shines with potential, and that does take it a good distance. As such, I’d probably still recommend the game, even if I can’t do so as enthusiastically as I would have liked to. It’s buggy, the design feels inconsistent, and the story keels over at the last minute, but you may want to put up with all of that if only to get at the bits that work.
Shaun Musgrave · Sep 26, 2018 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - There are some really rough edges to Where Shadows Slumber, but it didn’t stop me from wanting to play it through to the end. Its combination of creative and challenging puzzles mixed with an intensely dark story made me want to see it through, and I’m glad that I did. Personally, I’d much rather play something with the flawed ambition of Where Shadows Slumber than an overly polished, iterative puzzle adventure, but I also realize that not everyone else feels that way.
Campbell Bird · Sep 20, 2018 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - If you're a fan of the Square Enix Go series of puzzle games and you've finished Monument Valley already, Where Shadows Slumber is a good pick. The puzzles are clever, but not as varied or mind-melting as the Go series. The game's central mechanic is cool, but it isn't quite clever or adaptable enough to push it to instant-classic status like Monument Valley. That said, it would be hard to reach the heights of those games, and as it is, Where Shadows Slumber is an atmospheric and imaginative puzzle game.
Dick Page · Oct 03, 2018 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Where Shadows Slumber mixes light and darkness in some intelligent and incredibly engaging ways.
