  • We. The Revolution’s striking looks and memorable moments are all too often overshadowed by myriad gameplay mechanics and a constrained, confusing plot.

  • We. The Revolution is a unique take on a historical time from the perspective of someone who has power. The game has a lot of strategies at your control as you need to decide what kind of "man" you want to be. The game will appeal to history buffs but will also placate adventure game enthusiasts. So instead of relaxing in your favourite chair with a favourite book consider making We. The Revolution your "favourite book" as being judge, jury, executioner and even detective never felt so fulfilling!

  • We. the Revolution is the kind of game that you need to concentrate on, in a way that is captivating and graphic.

  • We. the Revolution is a well written, decent narrative puzzle game that doesn’t shy away from the brutality of 18th century France. The game makes an intriguing habit of forcing you to face your actions head-on, with far reaching consequences that can alter the plot in ways you rarely expect. The only drawback is that it’s very convoluted due to its many systems and its abundance of relationship balancing, ultimately making for a lot of guesswork.

  • We. The Revolution challenged my sense of justice and morals, and for that alone, I can easily recommend this title to fans of history or those craving a bit of despair. The game puts the situation into a new perspective that lets us think for ourselves, and while I may not have made some good decisions, you won’t pass judgment easily either.

  • We. The Revolution is a gorgeous, high stakes, intense exploration of politics during the Reign of Terror and combines interesting mechanics and storytelling to fully immerse the player in a story of corruption and desperate survival.

  • All told, it comes together to make a thoroughly enjoyable experience. If you’re looking for a narrative-driven game, and don’t mind doing a fair amount of reading, We. The Revolution has what you’re looking for.

  • Despite what it may seem, I don’t think that We. The Revolution is a bad game. I wanted to come back and play more. I think it’s frustrating because I can see the love and care put into it, but it’s being held down by poor gameplay. The artistry and courtroom battles are fun and worth a look, especially if you enjoy historical games. Just don’t jump in expecting a compelling, loose retelling of one of modern history’s most tumultuous periods.

  • We. The Revolution is clearly not for everyone. It's undoubtedly slow with the most thrilling aspect being the persuasion speeches, and even then that's just dialogue. But if you're in the mood for something that really transports you to the tumultuous time of the French Revolution then I don't think you will find a better way there.

  • We. The Revolution could have been a deep legal drama and challenging political strategy game, but it doesn’t end up being much of either. What we have instead is a game that tries to overcome its shallow gameplay by adding more shallow experiences on top of it.
