  • What I immediately loved about Freeblade was the combat, where you could really feel the power behind each melee blow, and the controls; your mech moves forward automatically, and you control using 1 finger to use your light gun, 2 fingers to use your heavy gun, and tap with 2 fingers to use a special attack.

  • Then again, if you’re a hardcore Warhammer fan, chances are you have the money to spend on buying the packs and getting the best loot drops. For those not immersed in the Warhammer world, caution might be warranted in investing a lot of time (and money) into Freeblade.

  • When you’re restricted by a game that’s all too keen to make you suffer for not throwing money at it though? That’s when Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade is all looks, lacking in real substance and classiness. It’s frustrating when it’s so close to being a great game.

  • You should download this if you have a 3D Touch device, just to see what's possible in games with that functionality. And if you love the Warhammer universe, giant robots, or just want an action game you can play for quick bursts, you will enjoy some time with this game. But the constant monetization attempts, while fair, do wear down your nerves. And that energy system is a killer that keeps this from being a good game and a solid recommendation.

  • A gorgeous, well put together on-rails shooter. In the end, it is just another on-rails shooter, but you'll have fun with its on-rails shooting all the same.
