  As intriguing as the art and light mechanics around Unmaze might look, they aren't used to great effect and don't have any quality supports behind them to justify five chapters of gameplay. The whole experience is messy all around, making it hard to recommend beyond telling people to try the free chapter if they are truly drawn to it.

  Unmaze is a stunning, one-of-a-kind visual novel with an interesting gimmick to spice up your gameplay. The mindblowing artwork is its saving grace, but other than that, the story is a little bit underwhelming. It’s a different kind of game than the rest of the cookie-cutter visual novels out there, though, so there’s that. Plus, you can give the first chapter a go for free if you want to get a feel of it before you buy the rest.

  Unmaze è un gioco sicuramente molto originale e che parte da buone premesse, perdendosi un po' in una realizzazione non sempre all'altezza dell'idea iniziale, tra difetti nella meccanica di gioco e una scrittura un po' discontinua. Il gimmick dell'alternanza tra luce e ombra è ottimo come idea ma si rivela anche scomodo da seguire, mentre funziona molto bene l'idea di avere nelle proprie mani il destino dei due ragazzi, da portare avanti in base alle decisioni del giocatore.
