- Soo…what about that knockout in the seventh round mentioned earlier in this review? No matter how good Undisputed looks or how crisp and ferocious its punching is, it falters in various other areas. The soundtrack is awful, the commentary is rote, the career is an afterthought, the roster is half-baked and needs more protein, and the online scene is a mess. Yes, if you’re thirsty for a boxing game after all these years without Fight Night, then Undisputed does fit the bill well, but with so many areas that are unfinished, it’s a bit of a hard sell. Undisputed gets the fundamentals right though, and if the fundamentals are all you care about, this is definitely a good boxing game, but it could’ve been so much more than that.

Exciting gameplay and great visuals pair well with a solid career mode, but some customization and story upgrades would help. Adding a showcase to highlight moments in boxing history could also tip the scales and make this game truly great.

While the game lacks the polish of a true champion, there’s the meat of something special here. Career mode has all the elements of a great, but it’s a bit dry in its current guise and could use a little more spectacle and variety. Meanwhile, the actual core boxing feels fantastic, but repetitive commentary and a lack of in-ring drama let it down. This is a release that’s not quite ready to contend for a belt yet, but it’s not a million miles off.

Pored sasvim solidnog izvođenja i uglavnom dobre grafike vidi se da ovom mladom razvojnom timu treba još treninga pre nego što ispoliraju svoju igru i uzmu šampionski pojas, ali dok se to ne desi Undisputed i u ovom obliku je sasvim ok igra koju fanovi boksa ne bi trebalo da propuste, posebno ukoliko žele da ovaj comeback potraje.

Il nucleo della proposta è rappresentato da un ottimo assortimento di meccaniche, che concede ampi margini di manovra sia a chi cerca un’esperienza più tecnica, sia ai novizi dell’arte pugilistica digitale. L’equilibrio fra questi due aspetti dell’offerta, però, non è ancora tarato a puntino, ed è facile notare un drappello di asperità che, messe insieme, trattengono il gioco dall’esprimere il suo pieno potenziale.

Undisputed isn't necessarily the perfect follow-up to Fight Night Champion, but it's a more realistic take on the sport that delivers a good amount of entertainment inside the squared circle, and we're impressed by what the Steel City Interactive team have created with their first video game ever. Let's hope we don't have to wait another 13 years for a sequel!

Just don't go expecting any seismic shifts when it comes to the boxing formula.
