- While it may not be a new game, but rather a director's cut of the two previous games, it's still worthy of a purchase if you managed to miss out on the fantastic Wii U versions. The portability lends itself well to short spurts, and the game itself contains enough to keep you busy, just be prepared for a hard case of déjà vu if you've already played NES Remix 1 and 2.

Down to the 8-bit music and classic themes from each title, Ultimate NES Remix brings you back to the good old days (either in a good or bad way), its frantic mini games and love of Nintendo new and old absolutely being worth the blast from the past.

The stages are fun and inventively riff on their source material, but it remains very hard to recommend to those that have already waded through the content on Wii U. For those that haven’t and find that the idea appeals, then prepare yourselves for what is a wonderful concoction of NES classics and mind-boggling crossovers.

Sure, if you own older versions of the game, there's nothing new here for you to see, but NES Remix's new home on the 3DS makes so much sense that you might be inspired to go back and attempt those challenges again.

Whilst the online features leave something to be desired, and the lack of complete games is a huge misstep, Ultimate NES Remix nonetheless offers up a fantastically addictive experience.

Not since the Wario Ware titles have I experienced a game that only requires a few seconds for each bit-sized treat that manages to steal this much time away from me. And it's the perfect fit for a gamer who is looking for something to kill time with when on a train or waiting on the bus. Even if it is just as addictive on the couch or in bed.

Ultimate NES Remix feels right at home on 3DS, with the variety and challenge breathing new life into some of Nintendo’s most iconic titles. I don’t think it matters who you are: if you like video games, you will love Ultimate NES Remix.

Ultimate NES Remix es un tributo igualmente válido. Quizás el adjetivo "Ultimate" (definitivo), le quede algo grande, especialmente teniendo en cuenta el contenido sacrificado de las dos versiones de sobremesa para sintetizar una sola versión portátil.

La amplia gama de minijuegos que atesora hará las delicias de los jugadores más nostálgicos, los cuales disfrutarán con la presencia de las sagas más queridas de esa dorada era.

Una joyita del retro que consigue pegarnos a la consola como hacía mucho que no ocurría... quizá desde los tiempos de la NES.
