- Yet undeniably, the game is absurd fun. The new engine, plus Nail the Trick, a slow motion tool that gives you precise control over footwork, plus a few more ditties, dropped into a truthfully free-roaming skate heaven cooks an undeniably addictive next-gen video drug.
Omeed Rafizadeh · Jun 24, 2012 Reviewed on PS3, X360Read full review - For those of you who have strayed from the Tony Hawk series, this is the return to form you've been waiting for. The extreme sports series is back to its best.
Andy Young · Nov 24, 2006 Reviewed on PS3, X360Read full review - Despite the addition of nail-a-trick, you’ll still find Project 8 to be the same old combo-heavy bliss you’ve come to know and love
Game Trailers · Nov 09, 2006 Reviewed on PS3, X360 - It's certainly disappointing that the PlayStation 3 is so far behind the Xbox 360 game. Framerate issues are apparent at every other turn, and the lack of online play really hurts. Project 8 is a worthy game to pick up, just preferably not on this system.
Chris Roper · Nov 09, 2006 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Project 8's tutorial should help new players get into the swing of things, but ultimately it's fans of previous installments that will get the most out of this game. The redesigned career mode and multiple difficulty goals inject a lot of excitement into the formula, and features like online leaderboards and Xbox Live support really make the Xbox 360 version stand out.
Jeff Gerstmann · Nov 08, 2006 Reviewed on PS3, X360Read full review - Heck, I'd be happy to see Tony Hawk 2 re-imagined for the new generation. I hope Neversoft is up to the challenge of making the Tony Hawk series brilliant again, because I still love the series. I just want my love to be justified.
Hilary Goldstein · Nov 08, 2006 Reviewed on X360Read full review - So hurrah! And as a final test, I got my friend Jo who runs a charity youth skate park to check it out (www.one-eighty.org.uk plug plug). She said, "You can't ollie a vert at that speed!" or something, but then wouldn't give me the controller back for the rest of the evening. Which is about as strong a recommendation as I'm able to offer.
