  • Ghost Recon Breakpoint is average at best when everything is going right. The Stadia version has a barely-existent online community that makes some of the modes and features inaccessible, making it the worst way to experience the game by a wide margin. The Project Titan Raid is apparently in the works for the Stadia version, but if the game's online population doesn't grow, it's hard to see Ubisoft seriously supporting it as much as other versions of the game.

  • If you're trying to sell me on the idea that Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is some kind of tense, elevated tactical action experience instead of an elaborate and unpolished loot chase, then I know someone interested in giving you a hat with a higher gear score.

It seems like Breakpoint saw the Assassin’s Creeds, the Far Cry’s, and The Divisions and decided it wanted to incorporate that into its own game. The issue is that throwing everything and the kitchen sink into the game isn’t going to make it great. They have a decent frame for Breakpoint and the feel of it is fine, but when trying to navigate the world or even the menus gives you a headache, it may be time to take a step back and think on what you need to do to make it better. The only way to play this game is with co-op friends. Single player people should avoid this one.

  • The one unique thing Breakpoint tried to bring to this Ubisoft circle jerk was survival elements, but it wasn’t fleshed out and barely used outside of being annoying. This title was utterly disappointing. Oh, and as a side note (since Ubisoft treated this mode like a side note), the 4v4 multiplayer mode is rubbish and a massive waste of everyone’s time.

  • Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a fun game that can be played stealthily in single player, or co-op with friends. The immense depth of the story and gameplay makes this title one that people will keep on playing for hours on end. The graphics are nice with many details unless you are playing on an older system because then you will notice some rougher edges. Dress up your character and weapon in any way you want and become the ultimate Ghost warrior.

  • With a gorgeous, massive world that begs you to explore, enjoyable gunplay, an extensive amount of loot and weapon upgrades on offer, and a surprisingly enjoyable narrative, it’s the type of game you can get lost in for days. Throw in the fact that its difficulty options allows Breakpoint to be tailored to suit practically any playstyle, and it’s hard to find any real faults with it. If you’re a fan of open world action, Ghost Recon Breakpoint needs to be high on your list.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint seems to be trying to please everyone. Its slow-burn of a single-player story coexists with an open-world bombastic romp with friends, which leads into a play-everyday grind for PvP-rewards, faction and raid gear with seasonal content, and a realistically gritty wargame of survival. But almost every ingredient clashes with another, making them all feel a little more padded, underwhelming, or contradicting than they need to be. But fun can be salvaged if you focus on one or two of those and just limit your expectations.

  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is still a fun game when everything is working well. Thanks to the very long-term support that Ubisoft provides for its games, there's little doubt that the crashes and other oddities will be patched over time. The gameplay remains a highlight of the series, even with all of the directional changes being made. With that said, the mashup of these different ideas has resulted in a game that has become rather generic instead of something special and different.

  • The best one can hope for is to get lost for a moment while Bernthal steals a scene, or to hit that high with a co-op partner. It will never last, though, and you will always find yourself shaking your head in frustration. Ghost Recon Breakpoint had every opportunity to improve on Wildlands, but instead of evolving, tore everything good about that game to pieces and replaced it with too few wins.

  • Overall, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a good game but struggles to establish itself or stand out in a genre that is already small. It tacks on too much from Division's loot system, random game design choices, and RPG elements, muddying what Breakpoint is exactly meant to be. It can seem like a Looter Shooter at times but fails to capture what makes Looter Shooters great. It can seem like a heavily-story focused RPG at times but drops the ball on delivering either a story or good, consistent RPG elements.
