  • The amount of detail that the artist got within the pixel world is pretty damn amazing, and sets the backdrop for the beautiful world in question, as you’ll run through areas of lava, swamp, and ice. But the soundtrack is the star here: as the music sets up for confrontations and is appropriate at every single encounter. It doesn’t overuse the “epic” music style that you see a lot of boss fights do now a days, it seemingly plays each note appropriate to the situation in question, and is something that a certain type of person (myself) can listen to hours on end.

  • With some fantastic enemies and well thought out puzzling gameplay you will find a very challenging and satisfying game here, but there may well come a point where that challenge transfers into frustration and rage, and outside of the boss encounters the game really doesn't offer much else.

  • Titan Souls was a tough and a well-fought battle that I enjoyed from beginning to end. Even though it had me raging at times, the thrill of taking down the Titans one by one gave me an immense feeling of satisfaction. While it is a relatively short experience (I was able to finish the game in just over six hours), it was worth every minute.

  • Simple, strategic combat and an assortment of unique bosses make for intense bursts of gameplay that will keep you coming back for ‘just one more go’. And another. And then one more.

I was intrigued by Titan Souls when I first heard of it but at the same time, I was skeptical thinking that it might just be a silly little indie game trying to cash in on the “Souls” popularity as of late. After my playthrough, I can safely say that while this is certainly no souls game, it’s one worthy of the time of anyone who seeks a truly rewarding challenge.

  • Acid Nerve's done a nice job crafting a game that provides a challenge without being overly frustrating, and more importantly, that's easy and enjoyable to play. My time in Titan Souls may not have been lengthy, but I'll remember my greatest kills for a long time.

  • By all means, you should give Titan Souls a go. There is a great game to appreciate, underneath the inexorable encounters with death. However, it’s a shame that only the most truly committed players will ever be able to get the full enjoyment and reward that Titan Souls offers. The majority of us will just give up too quickly, having lost hope after the hundredth fruitless demise.

  • Nevertheless, Titan Souls provides plenty of entertainment in those few hours. I still love the idea of a game with only bosses and a single weapon, and the contrast between the small protagonist and the towering bosses emphasizes the thrill of victory. It's a shame the game ends when it does, because there's potential here for an even greater product. But even with its short length, Titan Souls is a fresh and inventive indie release.

  • While Titan Souls is a brutally difficult game, it won’t have you giving up right away. Thanks to beautiful visuals and a memorable soundtrack, it is one of those games that will stick with you. If you like a good challenge, then Titan Souls is a must-buy.

  • It's absolutely a great game that deserves to be played, if only to experience some of the most intense boss battles you'll play all year. ...5 percent of what makes up Titan Souls is boss battles, and fortunately, that's the 95 percent of the game that Acid Nerve nails. Its story is nearly non-existent, and its on the short side, but the quality of the battles against the many Titans mostly make up for Titan Souls shortcomings.
