Little graphical glitches of characters flashing different animation frames or objects oddly clipping through each other were present once more and while infrequent, it managed to pull me out of the experience from time to time. From the very first episode, I considered Wolf Among Us to be Telltale’s finest work yet, and after episode 3, my opinion hasn’t changed. Now all that remains is the excruciating wait for episode four.

  • In for a penny, in for a pound. If you're reading a review of Episode 3, it's likely that you've already played Episodes 1 and 2. A Crooked Mile is a great follow-up to what's come before in Telltale's exploration of Fabletown. The stakes are raised emotionally and physically, and there's the great debut of a new villain for Bigby to contend with.

  • The Wolf Among Us: Episode 3 – A Crooked Mile continues to pick up speed as it hurtles towards, what is sure to be, an incredible final couple of episodes. This instalment completely outshines its already excellent predecessors, and offers a breathtakingly action packed slice of fairytale-infused pie.

  • I had also, in a very surprisingly out-of-character bit of impulsiveness, murdered one of the Tweedle brothers. I'm gonna pay for that one, I'm sure. I'm assuming that the duo pulling away in the limo with Crane in tow as the episode ends are the real antagonists of this season, and after such and explosive introduction, I can't wait to get better acquainted.

  • All in all, “A Crooked Mile” felt as though there wasn’t enough content to fill it and that it was dragged out to accommodate what will happen in the final two episodes. It created a false sense of drama and tension, believing that the players were not smart enough to figure out the episode’s supposed “twists.”

  • In the end, this is another good episode – there’s nothing really bad going on here, and the choices are even better implemented than before. Saying that it’s too similar to the previous ones would be wrong as it’s an episodic series, so it could be described as the pacing losing its way somewhat in the overall arc.

  • A great comeback from episode two, A Crooked Mile amplifies the drama—though sometimes in the wrong ways—and confronts Bigby with hard choices and proper detective work.

  • The final scene of "The Crooked Mile" is a satisfying action sequence that introduces some new antagonists, the most notable being an extremely violent Bloody Mary. Folklore states Bloody Mary appears in a mirror if you recite her name, but in A Wolf Among Us she's really just a nasty killer with a bad attitude.

  • This is noir storytelling at its finest. Pushed to the brink and facing more unknowns than ever before, A Crooked Mile sets us up for what should be an impressive second half for The Wolf Among Us.

It's a smart, brutal, and emotional episode that pushes the story forward and fleshes out nearly every player on the board. The way it made me feel wildly powerful, yet completely vulnerable resonated with me on a ton of different levels. I can't wait to see where Telltale allows me to take Bigby in Episode 4.
