  • Really, the only real issue I can see with The Witcher Battle Arena, aside from some stability issues that will no doubt get ironed out before long... It feels like it needs more characters — and more are coming — more maps or game modes, or just something additional to hold players’ attention in the long run.

  • If you’re looking for a mobile MOBA experience that may keep you busy for hours on end, The Witcher Battle Arena fits the bill. You may experience a few seconds of lag time getting every single player into the battle arena, but that’s a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent title. Although it serves as an excellent primer to the impending release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Witcher Battle Arena proudly waves its own sword, carving a path for eager gamers waiting for a new adventure.

  • The Witcher Adventure Game takes everything from the tabletop game of the same name and digitizes it, with a great deal of attention paid to aesthetics. Unfortunately, the board game being emulated here is poorly-designed, and the gorgeous visuals sometimes get in the way of its functionality. As a multiplayer title, it doesn’t bring much to the table, and once you’ve run through with all four characters you’ll have exhausted everything it has to offer.

  • Losing by a few points because you made some mistakes isn’t nearly as heart-wrenching as losing because your best friend decided to attack you on what was once a peaceful border. This is a great game for friends and family to pass some time with, whether you’re scattered across the world or conveniently located at home. Do yourself a favour and pick up a copy or four, there are monsters to be slain and victories to be had!

  • The AI isn’t robust enough to give a good challenge once you understand all of the rules. The asymmetry of the different characters is nice and adds to the re-playability of the game but if you want the game to shine you will need to play with other people. Thankfully the game offers hot-seat local play at a fraction of the price of the physical version. The low price also makes buying multiple copies to play with friends online an attractive option.

  • I like The Witcher AG. It took maybe a few too many systems but managed to wrangle them under their pre-existing universe to keep a thematically consistent experience. The ramping difficulty unnecessarily lengthens all but the shortest duration games, but the overall gameplay gives you just enough control over random elements that most board gamers won't lose focus.

The Witcher Adventure Game is a faithful translation of a mildly fun tabletop experience saddled with simplistic, repetitive objectives. Learning the strategies behind playing each of the four heroes is where the fun lies, though it often feels like you’re just playing alongside other players - not against them.

  • It’s a shame that The Witcher Adventure Game doesn’t fully embrace mobile gaming in a way that it should. It’s a fine adaptation of the tabletop game, and one that’s pretty good for newbies to the genre as well as experienced players. However, losing so much progress simply because you wanted to switch to a different app for a moment is a big problem, and one that will understandably put some folks off.

  • This might have been easier if The Witcher Adventure Game had a save feature, but no such option exists; if you have to close the game for any reason there’s no way to resume your progress. ...Having a quick-save option, especially on mobile versions where you prefer playing for ten minute sessions, would be ideal for players who want to play longer games but can’t commit the full amount of time.

  • Maybe the problem with The Witcher Adventure Game is that it’s just too much like the board game which was meant to be played with four friends together in a room, narrating their actions to each other while making inappropriate jokes about Triss. Playing this version just feels too solitary and mildly tedious. For fans of the board game only.
