  • The Walking Dead: 400 Days is a good, but lacking experience that’s separated into five small chunks that clock in at about an hour and a half altogether. It helps establish what is to come later this year, but that’s about it as character development is stifled due to short scenarios.

  • Yet the best stories in 400 Days are so good they're able to carry the DLC as a whole. Like The Walking Dead proper, this is an experience that makes for a powerful glimpse into the zombie apocalypse--not through gory action scenes but through the strained and heartbreaking interactions between characters caught in a terrible situation.

  • As a complete package, The Walking Dead: Season One and the “400 Days” DLC that comes with it (for Vita) gets my two thumbs up – and a must-buy score.

This was never going to be an easy one to get right. So much of the success of the core series came from the sense

  • Clementine may be nowhere to be found here, but 400 Days is nonetheless a strong entry in the Walking Dead series. It's short, but it packs a lot into every single minute of gameplay. While the game might seem like a cursory attempt to keep fans tided over until season two debuts later in 2013, it is actually one of the most imaginative, gripping, brutal, and best-written stories that you will experience all year.

  • Concisely designed to play like an anthology of short stories

  • However, no matter which way I look at 400 Days, it’s $5 to have a brief, but good enough trip back into The Walking Dead, complete with no technical issues (during my playthrough at least). For anyone who has played through all of Season 1 and can’t wait for Season 2, this does have its moments and immerses you back into the world you helped shape last year, even if it is just for an hour.

  • A fantastic return of The Walking Dead, letting Telltale experiment with form without losing any of the magic.

  • The Walking Dead: 400 Days is a worthwhile, bold narrative experiment. It throws away most of the trappings of the adventure game genre that the first season still hung onto; it's more directed, which perhaps makes it less compelling to play, but just as wonderful to experience. If The Walking Dead is more about dialogue and choices than the occasional puzzle and cupboard searching, then 400 Days is an excellent addition to the series.
