- Although I can’t fully pinpoint exactly one thing that made The Talos Principle great, there was something about the game that just felt incredible while playing. It provides such an amazing puzzle-solving experience that’s backed by an overall strong story that I can’t recommend this game enough.
Heath Shusterman-Zimmerman · Dec 30, 2019 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It’s been a treat revisiting The Talos Principle. One of my all time favourite puzzle games is a perfect fit for the pick up and play nature of the Nintendo Switch even though it’s not a superb port. Now here’s hoping The Talos Principle 2 is around the corner.
Kyle Nicol · Dec 13, 2019 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - The Talos Principle is a must play for any fans of the puzzle genre. Devolver and Croateam created an unexpectedly enthralling game, to say the least. With its vast assortment of challenges and complex thought-provoking narrative, it sets itself apart as not only an outstanding puzzler, but as a deep experience that will stick with you long after you’ve beat it.
Heidi Hawes · Oct 01, 2018 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Visually, The Talos Principle is gorgeous and stunning, especially on the Retina HD screen of my iPhone 8 Plus. It reminds me of the graphics in The Witness, except it's much more realistic and less dreamlike. The game's fully rendered in 3D and it's incredibly immersive, pulling you into the tranquil island life. It shifts between first-person and third-person perspective, depending on the puzzle you're solving. The entire world is full of fine details and textures, giving everything a bit of life. Honestly, it's rather impressive that this is just on my iPhone.
Christine Chan · Oct 14, 2017 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - With its relaxing atmosphere, pretty environments and interesting theological dilemma, The Talos Principle is PS4's best puzzler to date.
Tom Sykes · Oct 16, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Action junkies will probably come away underwhelmed but if you are looking for a change of pace in your game playing regime this thoughtful, Carl Sagan Cosmos-like experience is a wonderful candidate to consider. Naughty Dog went on from “Uncharted,” to create the masterpiece, “The Last Of Us.” Will Croteam follow a similar evolving game creation path? I’m keeping my fingers crossed and can’t wait to see what they have next in their pipeline.
Lou Sytsma · Oct 09, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - I didn't expect a video game to have deep philosophical questions that I pondered long after each session, and I appreciate how it adds the kind of depth seldom seen in games. It's also very cool to play a non-combat game that keeps me interested for hours at a time. The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition doesn't offer any new content to entice people who played the PC version, but I highly recommend it to everyone who hasn't.
Jeb Haught · Oct 09, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - The Talos Principle may be one of the best puzzle games of the year. Sure, it starts out pretty slowly, the first dozen or so of the game’s 120+ puzzles are laughably easy, and the controls may be a little awkward, but these are minor flaws in the bigger scheme of things.
Paulmichael Contreras · Oct 08, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Talos Principle is a meaty, long puzzle game. Depending on the ability of the player to solve the puzzles and progress the story really determines how long it will take most to complete the game. Even after it’s over the additional expansion pack included here adds even more time and difficulty into the mix.
Justin Celani · Oct 07, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - If you love and miss the Portal series, it's time to celebrate: The Talos Principle has all the first-person puzzles you've been craving, wrapped in an extremely thoughtful package. Don't be surprised if you feel legitimately smarter after reaching the end of its 100-plus puzzles.
