  • The Silent Age is a point-and-click adventure game set in the 1970s that features time traveling and a brilliantly convoluted plot.

  • The Silent Age mixes a great story with appropriate visuals and sound to create a superb experience. Its point-and-click nature makes it very relaxing and ideal for gamers looking for a laid-back game.

  • Of course, this short episode offers so many hints to something bigger, so many refreshingly logical puzzles, and such a believable-yet-strange setting for our average Joe to work through, that every minute spent there is a pleasure. Assuming additional episodes maintain the same quality of this first entry, The Silent Age will continue to be a must-play series well into the future.

  • The Silent Age has a good start, then has a really strong race to the finish line, and leaves with massive potential for the future.

  • The art style is quite memorable and the soundtrack is very good at building tension and adding to the mood, particularly the segments in the future. Overall, The Silent Age is probably worth picking up, especially if it is ever on sale. Hopefully developer House on Fire decides to expand on the story, with the potential there for a prequel adventure.

  • The Silent Age won't take long to complete, and when you do you're presented with an advert for the second - and final - instalment in Joe's tale. You can donate to help make that a reality, although House on Fire's website says that the next episode will be a paid app rather than free. Having completed this charmingly designed taster, you won't begrudge them the income.
