- Overall, whilst The Red Solstice may need some patches and fixes before its 100%, it’s already impressive and shows plenty of promise. This game is perfect for any lover of strategy, particularly so if you were a big fan of the likes of Dawn of War 2. With an interesting storyline that mainly helps to teach you the controls of the game more than anything, and plenty of endgame material and replayability.

A less-than-stellar tutorial and initial overload of information combined with a handful of quirks and bugs make it a game you have to stick with for a little while before you can fully appreciate its depth. If you can reach that point, though, and you have some friends to reach it with, this a storm you will successfully weather.
Britton Peele · Jul 09, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The Red Solstice starts with an interesting premise, and a surprising amount of depth to the various characters and unlocks. The actual game is unforgiving, and the progress is likely to be slow for a long time. Its major failing is the bipolar nature between survival versus run-and-gun, of which the later wins out and ultimately feels lacking. The RPG elements, switchable skills, and customisation, are all really great touches, yet the fundamentals are simply not good enough.
Eric Ace · Dec 21, 2016 Reviewed on PCRead full review - It's a hardcore co-op experience that is a joy to play with friends and strangers alike. The intense combination of strategy and action is not for everyone, but if you've got patience and a Dark Souls' level of appreciation for punishment, then The Red Solstice is a no-brainer.
