- I wrote a rather rambling review for Far Cry 4 in which I drooled over the phenomenal graphics that the game possessed but in the case of The Order: 1886 it comes across as a sour dish with a fancy bow tied on top to distract the buyer. I refuse to succumb to the appeal of some of the best visuals in the history of the industry. The Order: 1886 is absolutely a visual marvel that may be the best ever produced on console but it is not worth sixty dollars. Many reviewers will say the same that this game is breathtakingly beautiful. Do not buy The Order: 1886.
Thomas Nelson · Mar 14, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - I look forward to a sequel or dare I say demand one after that ending. Just like mustaches, not everyone can appreciate what The Order 1886 was trying to accomplish, but if you know what you’re going into, you just might walk away loving it as much as I did flaws and all. The Order 1886 joins my list of story driven games I’ll play again and again.
Justin Celani · Mar 02, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - There are brief moments throughout The Order: 1886 when it’s clearly striving for excellence, which only makes the end result more tragic. It’s easy to toss aside a game that looks bad or is full of bugs, but The Order feels like it should be a good game. It has all the tools, and a lot of the pieces are in place, but somehow it fell far short of greatness. Perhaps the worst thing about The Order is how blandly average it all is. When it was all over, I lamented its wasted potential while being relieved to see the credits roll. I wanted more from The Order, but unfortunately, good graphics only get you so far.
Sarah LeBoeuf · Mar 02, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Overall, The Order: 1886 is a thoroughly enjoyable game. The visuals of the game really are stunning and I was kept in awe of how it looked from start to finish. The story is engaging and well-executed, thanks to good pacing, solid voice acting and great action scenes. The gameplay is excellent, with a good variation of combat, QTEs and exploration.
Kim · Feb 23, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - This new IP from Ready At Dawn hits a lot of the good points of a third-person shooter but neglects to add anything innovative to the mix. The constant cinematics and short gameplay scenes make this feel like a glorified tech-demo. Nevertheless, it is a gorgeous tech-demo that sets a precedent for the horsepower behind the PlayStation 4.
Anthony DeCicco · Feb 20, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - The Order: 1886 is not a perfect game by any stretch but it certainly wasn’t deserving of the early criticism it received. Now that the release is finally here and you can play through the whole game yourself you’ll find that despite some very minor misses in gameplay, Ready at Dawn sets a very high bar in terms of both presentation and story offering up one of the best experiences to date on your PS4.
Shawn Petraschuk · Feb 19, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - The basic conflict at the heart of The Order: 1886 is that considerations for a cinematic approach are prioritized above the needs of basic gameplay. Its best aspects are its stunning looks, atmosphere, and style – which are truly fantastic – and entertaining fiction. But the shallow, slow, and generic quick-time event-riddled gameplay make it feel like an experience that would've been better served by a non-interactive movie than a game.
Brandin Tyrrel · Feb 19, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - The only individual sequence lengthy enough to find a rhythm is a later stealth level, though it's far too simple to inspire wishes for more sneaky sections. What, then, to make of The Order: 1886? It is, at best, perfectly playable, and lovely to look at and listen to. But it is also the face of mediocrity and missed opportunities. A bad game can make a case for itself. A boring one is harder to forgive.
Kevin VanOrd · Feb 19, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Sadly, beyond a few rousing moments peppered throughout the campaign’s sixteen chapters, The Order: 1886 is a shallow experience. ...Perhaps some day, Ready at Dawn could develop a sequel that's gorgeous and fun, and lives up to the promises of The Order: 1886, fingers crossed. But today is not that day.
Peter Paras · Feb 19, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Worthy in its (assumed) intent, and visually spellbinding, The Order’s archaic, player-detached approaches to interaction and narrative nonetheless make it a dated and instantly forgettable experience.

About the game
Trailers & Screenshots:
Hundreds of years before the game’s version of 1886, humanity de-evolves and a subset of humans becomes the genetically different “Half-breeds.” War eventually breaks out between humans and Half-breeds for power and survival, and in order to combat these fierce enemies, a brotherhood was formed through the Knights of the Round Table – an alliance called The Order. The Knights of The Order have waged wars across centuries and sworn to defend humanity while protecting the secrets of this dark history. Strengthened by a mysterious liquid called Blackwater, the Knights of The Order are able to heal their wounds and extend their lifespans in order to engage this supernatural foe.
