- Overall, The Land Beneath Us sports huge replay value and strategic roguelike gameplay that can be challenging but immensely rewarding. I would highly recommend any fans of the turn-based roguelike genre to take a look underfoot at The Lands Beneath Us.
Jordan Loades · Jul 15, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - The Land Beneath Us is the perfect game to start with if you want to find an easy-to-pick-up yet delightful experience. It's a fantastic option for fans of fast-paced, thoughtful rogue-lite games.
Jennifer Rahman · Jul 09, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - There’s certainly a very good dungeon crawling experience to be had in The Land Beneath Us, so pick it up and delve into the Underworld the next chance you get!
James Birks · Jul 07, 2024 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - The Land Beneath Us is a fair tactical rogue-like that you might dismiss on looks alone, but stick with it and you’ll be rewarded by an intriguing combat system. We just wish we could save mid-run.
Ian · Jul 03, 2024 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The Land Beneath Us is a fun roguelike with puzzle-esque combat that is easy to learn, yet will make you think if you want to do well in later stages. If you enjoy the genre or were curious about trying it out, I feel that there are few games that I would recommend before The Land Beneath Us.
ISAAC MCCRAW · Jul 02, 2024 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Despite these issues, The Land Beneath Us is a concept brimming with potential that, when it shines, shines very brightly. There's a lot to love here, and if you're a fan of strategy titles, roguelite elements, or ideally both, you'd really be doing yourself a disservice by not trying it. At its current price point, it's one of the best value packages in the genre this year.
Paul Broussard · Jun 30, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - I know that The Land Beneath Us might still be a hard sell for some people, but personally, I loved the game. It’s not only unique and challenging, but it eventually balances that difficulty with new features that open the experience up smartly. If you’re willing to put in the time, this is a rogue-like I would highly recommend.
Josh Speer · Jun 27, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - The Land Beneath Us is a good game for anyone who likes fast action, quick but thought-out decisions, and a rogue-lite structure. It doesn’t do much to innovate in any of these spaces, but the mechanical implementation is strong. The idea of wielding four weapons, one for each movement and attack direction, creates interesting tactical possibilities. There’s also plenty of variety for both relics and weapons, which keeps runs fresh. The presentation and story are competent, although nothing special when compared to other titles in this space. The Land Beneath Us delivers a fluid and fun experience as long as players don’t mind some runs that simply go nowhere.
Cosmin Vasile · Jun 21, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The Land Beneath Us is a cool indie Roguelike that boasts that essential ‘one more go’ outlook, keeping you coming back for more.
Dominic L · Jun 19, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - In spite of some iffy dialogue, The Land Beneath Us remains incredibly addictive throughout.
