  • The First Descendant is fun, but the enjoyment won't last much longer with what the game currently offers. The game might have some tweaks to shine, but it has potential. On the bright side, you can try this game without spending a dime.

  • The First Descendant has moments of fun, but its action is constantly debilitated by tiresome mission design and a grind entirely informed by its venomous monetization. It's designed to frustrate and steer players toward an extensive storefront that lets you circumvent some of its monotony, only to be met with even more. There are no redeeming features to its intentionally infuriating free-to-play model; it feels like a game designed in a boardroom, where every single aspect of its design is secondary to the pursuit of making more money. It's a sad state of affairs, and I wouldn't recommend The First Descendant to anyone.

  • Com certeza vale a pena. É um jogo gratuito e testar não vai te arrancar nenhum pedaço — muito menos dinheiro. Investir tempo em The First Descendant não é tão ruim assim. A progressão do seu Descendente é justa e os itens coletados te inspiram a continuar jogando.

  • The First Descendant lands on Xbox to provide a solid start to what has the potential to be a long running game. After all, if Destiny can expand from humble beginnings to the awesomeness of The Final Shape, imagine where The First Descendant could go in a similar time scale. As it is, this is a great first step, and there is a lot of fun to be had.

  • Destiny is grindy, but it has an immensely satisfying gameplay loop and a rich story. Outriders doesn’t have the best plot or visuals, but each class has a wide variety of powers that synergise brilliantly, meaning each build is unique to how you want to play and combat is worthwhile for its own sake. The First Descendant has the stand-out Colossi battles, but everything leading up to them is so mind-numbingly tedious that they don’t justify the time or monetary investment you’d need to spend to enjoy them. It’s the gaming equivalent of playing with a fidget spinner while on a Discord call — something to keep your hands occupied while you catch up. It’s a game designed to get you to pay to skip it, not play it, so what’s the point of it?

  • The First Descendant is a bland dish presented on exquisite plating, whose stunning boss fights and interwoven upgrade systems are overpowered by shallow missions and grim monetisation. Nexon doesn’t invite you to a power fantasy, it sells you one by letting you pay to skip tiresome progression mechanics.

  • The First Descendant offers a fresh take on the genre, combining elements of successful projects from the past with its own innovations, and could become a worthy competitor to any of its current analogs. Did I like the game - yes, but the game takes time, but given the good start, the developers have every chance of taking their place among the giants.

  • The First Descendant is a game that could be great, if it wasn’t for its localization, monetization model that wants you to spend money to speed up timers or skip the long grind to unlock characters, and various performance issues. It’s a game that I have a lot of fun with, but it certainly won’t be for everyone due to its variations in quality. However, I hope the development team rectifies what issues they can, because The First Descendant could become a staple in the looter shooter genre if given enough time.
