  • Overall, The Entropy Centre is an enjoyable puzzle game that has mechanics that are simple enough to quickly understand while remaining challenging enough to keep players engaged. The game manages to make itself stand out through an intriguing mystery plot to gradually uncover, likable characters, great graphics, and good sound design.

  • All in all, The Entropy Centre is a charming and inventive puzzle platformer. It’s nowhere near as memorable or innovative as its main cake-smelling source of inspiration, nor is it particularly replayable, but as a one-off, mind-bending puzzle adventure, yup, this gets the job done with honors for the extension of its runtime, more than making up for what little issues I’ve found in its voice acting and presentation departments as well.

  • The Entropy Centre is the kind of puzzle experience that will attract both long-term fans of the genre and newcomers with its unique time-rewinding idea. But it stays a little too close to its inspirations, underlining how hard it is to improve on the classics.

  • Constantly surprising, packed with clever puzzle design, and with an interesting story to boot, The Entropy Centre has just cemented itself as one of my favourite puzzle titles ever. Too many combat sections let it down a little, but they are worth persevering with to see just how Stubbington can show off his puzzle acumen next.

  • While The Entropy Center sticks very close to its Portal-esque roots, the well-crafted puzzles work perfectly with its simple but effective time travel mechanic. There are some sections where too many enemies can be an annoying distraction from the puzzling, but these are forgivable because the temporal manipulation powers provide such unique challenges.

  • The Entropy Center is a really well-made puzzle game that takes its main hook of reversing time, and casts a wide net of ideas surrounding that very theme – most if not all of which stick to the landing. The story is interesting with well-written characters, the puzzles are engaging with plenty of variety, and the developers constantly spice things up with chase sequences and other high-intensity moments.

  • The Entropy Centre is a mind bending puzzle game that’s constantly introducing new ideas to feel fresh. Rewinding objects never gets old, and will change how you think for hours after you put the controller down. Add on top some hilarious writing, charming characters, and an intriguing mystery and you’ve got an instant classic.

  • Visually, The Entropy Centre can be a bit hit-and-miss. A lot has clearly been put into the visual aspect, but it does often feel like assets are reused over and over. As such, the inside of the facility can often feel a bit stale and samey. The same cannot be said for the outside of the facility, though, where outer space looks incredible and almost picture-perfect.

The Entropy Centre is a more than competent riff on a Portal-style first-person physics puzzler, chock full of brain teasers that manage to have satisfying solutions that made me feel like a big brain time wizard, although it never realizes the full, imaginative potential of its mind-bending tools.

  • The Entropy Centre is, ultimately, a game that charmed and frustrated me in the best possible way. It doesn’t quite reach the level of its inspiration, but it does deliver the perfect puzzle experience of beating your head against the wall until you get the dopamine hit of figuring out the perfect solution.

About the game

The Entropy Centre is a mind-bending puzzle adventure where you reverse objects through time to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles and conundrums. Manipulate time to your will and solve ingeniously challenging puzzle rooms, each one taking you closer to the heart of a colossal space station in orbit of Earth. An extinction-level event has set the world ablaze. You appear to be the last remaining person alive. Mankind’s only hope lies at the core of The Entropy Centre. Meet ASTRA, The Entropy Centre’s most advanced technical marvel. ASTRA is an AI-powered device that can scan an object’s spacetime chronology and move it through the past. Powers include rebuilding collapsing pillars to reheating cups of tea. She’s pretty cool. The truth behind The Entropy Centre’s imminent collapse, and the Earth’s demise, can be found at the heart of this sprawling dangerous facility. But will you accept the unfortunate truth that awaits? Deviously challenging with razor-sharp witty writing and outstanding voice acting performances, The Entropy Centre merges a brilliant puzzle game with an epic adventure.
