- The Ascent sieht fantastisch aus und bietet grandiose Kämpfe. Häufige technische Probleme trüben besonders im Koop den Spielspaß.
Natalie Schermann · Oct 15, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - It’s never easy, but the game is always fair, and there are always new guns to try. If you like the looter shooter genre, there’s something for you, too. The guns in The Ascent are the star of the show: they feel great and are never dull.
Denis Koshelev · Oct 19, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The Ascent can be great fun with three other like-minded players. There are lots to explore in Veles and many challenges. On the flip side, much of the game falls apart or is otherwise tedious solo. This leads to the catch-22 that one should mostly consider The Ascent if other people they know are also interested or are already playing.
Fragnarok · Apr 11, 2022 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Overall, The Ascent is a fun twin-stick shooter that comes to the Playstation with an absolutely beautiful world design. The wholesale violence is very engaging but may feel a bit redundant as you can be pretty well maxed out about halfway through. I had a lot of fun with The Ascent, especially with multiplayer. It’s a beautiful-looking game that’s a blast to play that’s worth checking out.
Doug Mercer · Apr 02, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Overall, The Ascent is a good game, especially for the PS5. For those who are fans of Diablo and want to try something outside their realm of expertise, this is the type of game that I highly recommend.
Conrad Huang · Mar 28, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The Ascent is far from perfect. It has so many issues that normally I would not give it a second look. Despite all the issues and the fact that the gameplay is pretty basic, the story completely forgettable and it lacks any depth, I had fun with it and once I started playing it I was lost to the rest of the world.
Cosmin Vasile · Mar 27, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The Ascent's a solid, if somewhat repetitive shooter, propped up by eye-popping environments and a reasonable amount of RPG depth. If you can stomach some grindy mission design and the occasional buggy interaction, then there's explosive fun to be had here.
Robert Ramsey · Mar 24, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - If I’m brutally honest, I’ve played top-down shooter Flash games that have deeper design and play better than The Ascent. Playing it has been an awful experience that I dragged my brother through, and I feel guilty for it. While the vignettes are cool, the central plot completely falls apart.
Bob Richardson · Oct 12, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Despite some wonkiness with the in-game map layout, it’s a quite enjoyable experience, especially if you decide to go online and team up with friends. The Ascent is a vastly impressive first outing for Neon Giant, and one that sets the bar high for the studio’s future endeavors.
Donovan Erskine · Aug 12, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Your bosses insult you when you go on your task, ignore you when you've done well, and provide no rewards for success. For so much of the play time, The Ascent feels like, well, an uphill battle.
