- Despite TDU2's lack of realism and a force-fed story-mode, the game does provide an open-world experience that very few titles have succeeded with in the past. Exploring the rich roads of Ibiza and Oahu is an amazing feeling when driving some of the nicest cars in the world and being plugged into a competitive network of racers ready to speed down the coastline makes it even better.
Jason Kramer · Jun 24, 2012 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - This all equates to a ridiculous amount of playtime and enjoyment. We poured over 15 hours into TDU2, having only pushed through a small sliver of the mulitplayer experience, and just a sixth of the way through the game’s leveling system (60 total). As frustrating as the first hour or so may be, the sheer amount of content and scope of the islands is enough to warrant a thumbs up from us. Test Drive Unlimited 2 isn’t perfect, but it sure is one addictively good time that’s worth a look.
Mike Hartnett · Mar 02, 2011 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - There's over 90 vehicles to collect in the game, and a max level cap of 60 that you can reach by playing the campaign, racing other players in multiplayer, and by finding new locations in the games humongous world. It's just a shame that the campaign consists of annoying voice actors that are almost unbearable to listen to, multiplayer is near non-existent, and finding a new location involves driving for extended periods of time through dull, boring terrain.
Destin Legarie · Feb 25, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - Test Drive Unlimited 2 definitely has its moments and I can't deny the game's quirky charm. But the great strength of the roster of cars, the enjoyable driving model and compelling location can't eclipse the lack of enjoyable content or the confusing economy. Get it if you like cars but aren't too particular about gameplay.
Steve Butts · Feb 25, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - Test Drive Unlimited 2's flaws aren't bad enough to keep you from being sucked into the vast amount of single-player content. The problem is that it isn't designed to be a single player game, and the online features meant to be its biggest draw have been broken for far too long. Perhaps a brighter future awaits it, but frankly, it should have long since gotten over its crippling growing pains.

Mike Channell · Feb 18, 2011 Reviewed on X360 - Incredible, ambitious ideas fuel Test Drive Unlimited 2. Rolling around and taking in the sites is fun. But the driving mechanics are lackluster. Numerous bugs get in the way of the fun. Test Drive Unlimited 2 had promise, but the final product didn't come together for this online racer. I'm a fan of games that give you control of your character's life (see: buying houses, decorating, pimping sweet rides), but the driving is missing the raw energy it needs to stay interesting and the rest of the experience is bug-ridden.
Ryan Clements · Feb 16, 2011 Reviewed on PCRead full review - For whatever reason, though, it's possible to become hooked, eager and willing to explore the island and collect as many cars as possible. It's just a crying shame that you're going to have to spend a fair amount of time being the egotistical spanner Eden clearly thinks you want to be, paying for countless haircuts, face lifts and fashion lines. Please Eden, next time just focus on the driving.
Tom Orry · Feb 15, 2011 Reviewed on PC, PS3, X360Read full review - The freedom of open-road driving, backed by beautiful landscapes, is like few other games, and the huge, shared world of races and missions can be as addictive as a good MMORPG. The catch is that TDU2 isn't best in any class; it doesn't do any one thing better than a number of more specific, less expansive driving games. It does do an awful lot, though, and won't be kept down by its faults--which are hardly few, but aren't deal breakers either.
Jane Douglas · Feb 14, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - If you don’t have an Xbox Live Gold account, don’t bother with TDU2: its offline content is decent, but hardly worth the amount of time it takes to amass snazzy cars and houses
