- This isn’t equivalent to playing with a SNES or PS3 controller – you’re holding an entire machine in your hands, which has its own weight and resistance. Is it possible to overcome these problems and go on an online winning streak? Sure, I saw no shortage of B and A-rank fighters who played as if they never left the arcade. But when you’re fighting lag and the button layout, the experience, while still technically accurate to the console version, starts to sag.

The
Kirby Yablonski · Apr 11, 2011 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - All of this makes Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition one of the 3DS' must have titles. We've seen a few websites discounting Capcom's effort as the same old thing, but don't listen to that nonsense. This wonderful game belongs in your collection, regardless of whether you're new to the franchise or an experienced player that needs a fighting fix on the go. Pop it into your system, adjust the 3-D slider and prepare for battle.
Chris Buffa · Mar 30, 2011 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - Naturally, Street Fighter IV 3D edition isn’t anything particularly new. It’s essentially the same game, albeit with some reduced features, it is on consoles. I therefore wouldn’t call is an essential 3DS title, but having played both the console and 3DS editions, I think the 3DS edition might be the essential version of the game.
Ross Lincoln · Mar 30, 2011 Reviewed on 3DS - Unlike the iPhone version of Street Fighter IV, which was an admirable effort that ultimately felt like a proof of concept, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is a complete game. Super Street Fighter IV is one of the best fighting games around, and players owe it to themselves to give it a shot.
Jeff Cork · Mar 25, 2011 Reviewed on 3DS - From the fantastic visuals to the speed of combat, it's as great a fighting game as you'll find on a handheld, encompassing most of the features of the console versions. The lack of leaderboards and a tournament mode remains a mystery, but what matters most is that fighting remains fun and challenging. Whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned pro, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition satisfies your fighting urges on the go, doing so with a level of style and depth that few fighting games can match.
Mark Walton · Mar 25, 2011 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - The 3DS rendition of Super Street Fighter IV is a smart adaptation that looks, functions, but most of all, plays just like the genuine article. If you can live with the compromises it makes with controls, then it's a solid pick amid a lukewarm lineup of welterweight launch games.
Game Trailers · Mar 25, 2011 Reviewed on 3DS - Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is really the total portable fighting package. In terms of what Capcom has been able to pack onto the tiny 3DS cart, it effortlessly stands toe-to-toe with its console efforts. In fact, when you factor in the game’s StreetPass capabilities and the fact that you can battle random Internet strangers while sitting on the toilet, 3D Edition may even have the edge.
Nick Chester · Mar 24, 2011 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - Aside from the slightly fiddly controls, I can't really fault Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition. On the other hand, I find it curiously hard to recommend. It's an extremely well-handled port, and it demonstrates the capabilities of the 3DS better than any other launch title. In short, it's a great technical showcase, but I'm still not sure who'll get the most out of it.
Neon Kelly · Mar 23, 2011 Reviewed on 3DSRead full review - Porting a 360/PS3 fighting game to a portable comes with a cost. Capcom has attempted to minimize these sacrifices as much as possible. In some cases the changes actually improve the experience. The addition of the touch controls, in particular Lite mode, will open up Street Fighter to a whole new audience. Plus being able to execute fireballs with one button is a lot of fun.
