- There is a good deal of activity available though, and the source material definitely gives this one a bit of mindshare.
Tre Lawrence · Mar 27, 2017 Reviewed on And - Super Mario RUN truly shines with a game that was designed from mobile, bringing incredible Mario graphics that are smooth and will bring back the kid in you, as well as excellent controls, and wonderful sound, with accessible gameplay for all gamers, regardless of age or experience. Here’s where Super Mario RUN truly fails: to play the game, you’ll need to have access to a constant and consistent internet connection, so there’s no playing on the subway or on the way to work, as well as a notably large file size and a thick $10 paywall.
Appszoom team · Mar 27, 2017 Reviewed on And - When all is said and done, though, Super Mario Run definitely goes down as another impressive Nintendo entry in the mobile gaming landscape. Granted, in opting to become an automatic runner, it gives up the agency and intricate and layered level design of traditional Mario games, but the level design here is strong regardless. Ultimately, recognizable soundtracks, slick animations, nostalgic visual beats and its extremely addictive and incredibly accessible nature all come together to make sure that Super Mario Run does justice to the Mario franchise.
Shubhankar Parijat · Jan 06, 2017 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Super Mario Run isn’t breaking the mold for App Store games, but it does have a certain Nintendo quality, charm and polish that is frankly unmistakable. A unique twist on the Mario formula, Nintendo has been able to substantively add to the genre in a meaningful way.
Louis Contaldi · Dec 21, 2016 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - The level design is amateur, the boss battles, save for the final confrontation with Bowser, are too simple, and the build mode left me indifferent to the whole shebang. The controls are there, but everything else feels like Mario b-sides, and that really shouldn't be the case with this grand entrance into the mobile market.
CJ Andriessen · Dec 20, 2016 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Super Mario Run would have been better if it had committed to a single idea. Instead, we’ve got a lacking runner game melded to a half-baked city builder that relies on repetition and artificial setbacks in order to pad itself out. With a premium cost – as well as a data-hogging always-online requirement – this is a game that’s worth neither the time nor the money it’s demanding.
Jim Sterling · Dec 19, 2016 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - This isn’t a grand, deep experience, but it has enough inventive twists on Mario platforming to remain fun for a few hours. The depth all depends on whether or not you can hardcore into colored coin collecting or deep into Toad Rally. For me, I didn’t get too into the latter. Mario Run is a fresh, novel take on the series for mobile devices, and even if it doesn’t totally stick the landing, it’s an engaging ride.
Neal Ronaghan · Dec 18, 2016 Reviewed on iOS, AndRead full review - Whether or not Super Mario Run is worth a purchase depends on the player. Anyone looking for a full length sidescroller for their mobile device will be sorely disappointed. This isn’t that and Nintendo never said it would be. On the other hand, ample respect must be given for skipping microtransactions and just selling the thing straight up for a reasonable price.
Jason Bohn · Dec 17, 2016 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - I recommend giving Super Mario Run a try if you’re a Nintendo and Mario fan in any way, shape, or form. It’s not your traditional Mario game, but it’s a great option for getting your Mario fix on-the-go without a 3DS.
Christine Chan · Dec 16, 2016 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Super Mario Run is unlike any other Mario game out there, and it's cool to see Nintendo exploring mobile by trying new and different ideas. I'm not sure that Super Mario Run will fully satisfy people who were hoping for a console-style platformer from Nintendo on mobile. That said, Super Mario Run is a really well made runner that combines some new score-chasing ideas with a bit of nostalgia.

About the game
Trailers & Screenshots:
In this game, Mario constantly moves forward through the courses while you use a variety of jumps to navigate. Mario will behave differently depending on the timing of your taps, so it's up to you to show off particularly smooth moves, gather coins, and reach the goal.
