- Starbound is a satisfying space sandbox that rarely disappoints, with occasional minor bugs or mandatory missions offering minor quibbles with unbridled, endless exploration. This ambitious indie project has something for everyone buried within its retrograde graphical framework.
Daniel Tack · Aug 03, 2016 Reviewed on PC - Though the combat is lacking, and I’d wish for more ship customization options and fewer wiki trips, Starbound is otherwise a great pleasure, full of verve and laden with seemingly endless diversions and self-directed projects that you can lose yourself in for hours or days at a time.
Christopher Livingston · Jul 27, 2016 Reviewed on PCRead full review - All that said, Starbound has come a tremendous way from its first Early Access release. Back then I would have had a hard time recommending the game to anyone besides the most hardcore of fans, but now I can happily recommend it to anyone with even a passing interest in the construction game genre that Minecraft kicked off.
Steven Bogos · Jul 22, 2016 Reviewed on PCRead full review - I'm sure there will come a point — after all the updates, after its full final release, after I've mastered the dangers of Sector X — where I finally feel done with Starbound. Even an infinite game can't pull me in forever. But its slow start aside, this is the closest I've experienced to an endless game without major compromises in content.
Philip Kollar · Apr 22, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - At first glance, Starbound may seem familiar. Playing around with building blocks and endless gathering/crafting gameplay in a pixelated art-style is something we've seen in the immensely popular Minecraft and Stardew Valley (the latter is even published by Chucklefish). However, Starbound manages to set itself apart by expanding its gameworld to the entire galaxy, providing players with many different planets to explore, civilisations to encounter, and hidden gems to discover - the sky is not the limit.
Clover Harker · Aug 13, 2016 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Starbound (PC) Review 8It’s not without its flaws, to be sure. Progression can be slow at times, while still feeling too brief in the grand scope of the game, and the combat can be a bit of a yes/no gear check, but critically, none of this mars the experience, nor can it ever upset the beauty of the game’s randomly generated worlds, the vibrant colour palettes, the stunning parallax, and the overall “feel” of the game.
Jake Yanik · Aug 10, 2016 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Starbound supone una profunda y económica alternativa a No Man’s Sky.

About the game
Trailers & Screenshots:
You’ve fled your home, only to find yourself lost in space with a damaged ship. Your only option is to beam down to the planet below and gather the resources you need to repair your ship and set off to explore the vast, infinite universe…
In Starbound, you create your own story - there’s no wrong way to play! You may choose to save the universe from the forces that destroyed your home, uncovering greater galactic mysteries in the process, or you may wish to forego a heroic journey entirely in favor of colonizing uncharted planets.
Settle down and farm the land, become an intergalactic landlord, hop from planet to planet collecting rare creatures, or delve into dangerous dungeons and lay claim to extraordinary treasures.
Discover ancient temples and modern metropolises, trees with eyes and mischievous penguins. Make use of hundreds of materials and over two thousand objects to build a sleepy secluded cabin in the woods, a medieval castle, or an underwater arcade.
