  • Visually SpiderHeck is clean and simple, but does feel very basic. Maps follow the same style, only offering differences in layouts and color – it can often feel like you are playing the same map over and over, just in a different color.

  • SpiderHeck is an absolute must-play and a game you should be checking out right now. Even for solo players, though, I think there’s enough to keep you entertained for hours. For me, SpiderHeck is the surprise of 2022 and is so good that I can overlook the arachnids crawling around in it.

  • There are a couple of issues that I’d love to see addressed. I should be able to sign all local players into their own accounts, but this isn’t the case. I wish there were a few more customization options for difficulty and accessibility. And I’d love the ability to create my own arenas. Despite these minor issues, SpiderHeck is absolutely brilliant.

  • What shines most with SpiderHeck is the ability to dive into a fight, and it rarely lasts a ridiculous amount of time. The gameplay itself is rapid, and you can customize the number of rounds there are, or the points total to reach, with the default being ‘first to ten points.’ For those that do want to be ‘SpiderHecking’ for hours on end, there are also endless horde modes offline.

  • SpiderHeck is an eye-catching oddity that is best played with others. As arcade brawlers go, there isn’t anything else quite like it.

About the game

SpiderHeck is a fast-paced couch co-op brawler where spiders dance to the death in the grip of chaotic battles using laser swords, grenades and even rocket launchers to defeat their foes. Challenge yourself by fighting wave after wave of vicious enemies in endless hours of single-player fun, or let the mayhem begin in a dazzling fight against your friends taking on the enemies in PvE; stab, sling, and scramble your way to victory in this silly spider showdown.
