  • Solo Leveling: Arise is a level-based action gacha RPG based on a popular web novel. It’s a game with neat animations and a great overall combat style, but unfortunately also plenty of downsides.

  • Overall, I would say Solo Leveling: Arise is one of the most impressive mobile games I’ve ever played. Unlike most anime mobile games, it adapts the series smartly in a welcome way. The action RPG combat is lightning fast, requires immense skill, and, most importantly, feels fun to use. Though the story moves a little too fast and it plays awkwardly with a touchscreen, the stellar presentation is leaps and bounds above most mobile games these days.

  • Solo Leveling: ARISE allows you to live your life as Sung Jin-woo, offering an immersive gaming experience with a captivating storyline that stays true to the original webtoon

  • Solo Leveling: Arise takes an established IP and gives it the videogame treatment it deserves, immersing you in the tension and conflict of Sung Jinwoo’s reawakening as a Hunter. It looks great, it’s satisfying to play, and it’s not gatekept by heavy-handed microtransactions or battle passes.

  • Solo Leveling Arise is authentic to its anime and webtoon inspirations, but it's too grindy, frustrating, and repetitive to come close to rivaling the best gacha games.

  • It might not always blow you away with originality, but Solo Leveling: ARISE is still a pretty enjoyable and involving adventure on PC.

  • While there is a lot to enjoy, it’s hard to argue that the story it’s adapting is doing a lot more of the heavy lifting, encouraging people to play more to see what’s next for Sung, rather than the repetitive gameplay.

  • Solo Leveling: Arise is a near-perfect homage to the original manhwa. Its sublime storytelling is its standout feature, which combined with its rich visuals, fluid gameplay, and addicting Genshin-esque features, make it a must-play for any Solo Leveling or gacha fan. Only time will tell if the late-game progression system issues will eventually harm its longevity and drive its promising playerbase away.

  • Solo Leveling: Arise is everything you wanted in a manga-turn-mobile game, despite a few hiccups here and there. There are strategic battles at every turn, and many levels to be gained, in order to become the Monarch of Shadows.
