- I wanted to love Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts. There is a lot that is well done here, particularly the shooting, the upgrades, and the level design. Unfortunately, it is all but marred by bugs, especially the way the save system currently works… or doesn’t. If you’re in the market for a new sniping shooter, I cannot in good conscious recommend Contracts, it’s simply too frustrating to play in its current state.
Jonathan Miley · Dec 10, 2019 Reviewed on PS4 - Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts has a few fresh ideas, but it takes several steps sideways steps as it looks to make a claim in the sniper game sub-genre. An experience that is often good, but never great.
Robbie Cocker · Dec 05, 2019 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is a sniper’s playground. But like any playground, there are some unexpected rough edges that can make playtime a bit less fun. Uninspiring AI combined with numerous technical issues makes for an occasionally frustrating experience. Though the change of scenery and weaponry will be appreciated by some, the ho-hum technical performance and glitchy objective tracking will turn some all the way off. What CI Games has produced isn’t bad, but it’s also not quite the Sniper Elite 4 contender the genre needs to keep things interesting.
Paulmichael Contreras · Dec 04, 2019 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It isn't extraordinary, but Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts is a solid game. The majority of the gunplay is basic, but it pales in comparison to the attention paid to the sniping and the variety of gun mechanics. The enemy AI works fine even if they sometimes act dumb, and the environments make the missions more interesting. The lack of polish in a few parts of the presentation and some interesting quirks bring down the game, but overall, Contracts is worth checking out if you can temper your expectations.
Cody Medellin · Dec 03, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The Sniper Ghost Warrior franchise finally finds its footing on its 4th entry with a budget title that is a huge step in the right direction. Despite the issues, Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts is a worthwhile game and one of the strongest in the sniping subgenre of third-person shooting.
Kyle Nicol · Nov 28, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts blends splendid gameplay with a light storyline. Despite numerous bugs, every environment is entertaining because of how it pushes you to be creative Each contract presents an opportunity for a great combination of long-range and close-quarters encounters. Overall, the satisfying gameplay makes it easy to ignore the frequent bugs.
Jeffrey Lerman · Nov 26, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - An experience for those focused and patient snipers, but the performance issues may hamper the immersion and fun in a world with a structure that only has so much to offer.
Stephen Wilds · Nov 26, 2019 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts launches with a budget-friendly price but still feels undercooked. The foundation of a solid game exists under a pile of janky animations, bugs, and a patchy graphical presentation. Sniping fanatics will find a lot to like here and the shift towards the Hitman-style front-end works in the game’s favor. Ultimately, this is the best Sniper Ghost Warrior game yet, but the series still has a ways to go to match up with competitors like Rebellion’s Sniper Elite.
Chris Jarrard · Nov 26, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - When Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts works, it works amazingly well. The process of spotting, planning, and sniping makes for a tense, engaging experience, especially given the expansive maps that almost always provide multiple vantage points and approaches. However, the game too often demands that players close the gap and suffers as a result. Although Seeker’s toolkit is filled with toys, too many rely on noise, and the enemies flock to the slightest sign of the player’s presence, making the game tougher than will likely be enjoyable for many.
Damien Lawardorn · Nov 25, 2019 Reviewed on PC - For those that want to drop in and shoot some enemies, Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts may be worth checking out, so long as they can ignore the many bugs present in the game. Even then, its an incredibly tough sell. Some early E3 demos made it seem as though this would be a first-person Hitman game, but the end result is disappointing and frustrating.
