- At the end of the day Sniper Elite III is a pretty good game. From large game levels and lots of extra tasks to that non-linear approach to how you can complete said tasks and the ability to play the whole campaign cooperatively, there really is a lot to like. Let’s not forget that the gruesome, but cool kill-cam is back too!
Kirby Yablonski · Jul 21, 2014 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Sniper Elite III is a mediocre game with a gimmick that escalates it to be more enjoyable than it should be. Remove that particular mechanic though and we are left with a pretty bland shooter. Still, those that play games like Mortal Kombat just for the gore will be pleased, making this a fun summer diversion for new console owners starving for something new to play.
Ken McKown · Jul 15, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - In some respects – particularly in its graphics and slightly more refined shooting – Sniper Elite 3 is a better game than its predecessor. That said, it's grandfathered in a lot of Sniper Elite V2's AI issues, while also forcing players to micromanage too much when it comes to sniping. The sound masking system is poorly implemented, detracting from the core satisfaction of landing the perfect shot.
Xav de Matos · Jul 11, 2014 Reviewed on PC - I often found myself cursing the more frustrating elements of Sniper Elite III. Broken matchmaking, and half-baked stealth sequences shouldn't be this incessant in a series that's just reached its third outing. ...It's a shallow, crude pleasure, but the delightful disorder that's just around every corner is strong enough to overshadow an otherwise forgettable experience.
Josiah Renaudin · Jul 09, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Sniper Elite 3 manages to take many aspects from the franchise and improve upon them. The gameplay is more refined, the stealth mechanics reworked to an interesting and enjoyable element and the added co-op and multiplayer stand on their own and do not feel tacked on. The amount of weaponry at your disposal in lieu of sniper rifles in a game about a sniper is a bit disappointing, but can be easily overlooked by the slight customization and leveling additions added.
Anthony DeCicco · Jul 08, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - The summation of all these parts is equal to an enjoyable stealth gameplay experience that just never transcends its gameplay. A personal real-world comparison I can make is to my day job. I am able to work from home at will, but I don’t like doing so because I enjoy the social interaction that is only possible at the office. Although the work itself is no less important or interesting, the work experience differs greatly depending on the environment.
Gil Almogi · Jul 05, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Overall, Sniper Elite 3 does have a fun kill-cam feature, it does have online co-op and it does have an interesting multiplayer. But, almost everything about it feels like a rushed product that simply cannot be ignored. So, unless you are a huge fan of the series, or just want to see some intense kill-cams, this just isn’t a game I can recommend at its current price point.
Dan Oravasaari · Jul 04, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Sniper Elite 3 definitely improves the rare but rewarding genre of open-world sniping. Being thoughtful about each shot instills a sense of companionship with your rifle, and we definitely felt an unexpected bond with our terrifying tool of death. Everything involving firing that rifle is fun, it’s just too bad the other elements in the game aren’t as impactful.
Michael Huber · Jul 03, 2014 Reviewed on PS4 - There’s great satisfaction in creeping through the war-torn desert, avoiding or quietly dispatching the Nazi enemies. Nailing a perfect sniper shot from hundreds of meters away never gets old, and even though the campaign is somewhat lackluster, you’ll enjoy seeing it through to the end. Sniper Elite 3 improves on its predecessors, but it’s still got a few too many blemishes to be a truly great game.
Ron Whitaker · Jul 03, 2014 Reviewed on PC, PS4, XB1, PS3, X360 - Though its stealth-based sniping gameplay can provide some exciting moments, Sniper Elite III is a decidedly mixed bag. Its abysmal narrative, outdated mission design, boring protagonist and weak non-campaign modes overshadow everything that it does well. ...This is the rare game where one should miss the forest for the trees, as the sum of its parts is greater than the whole. There is a lesson to be learned here: playing it safe hampers chances for success.
