  • Season: A Letter to the Future stands as a relatively successful combination of exploration, documentation and philosophical meditation. Its surface beauty is matched by its depth of reflection, only marred by some repetitive gameplay elements and strange character design choices.

  • At the end of the day, Season: A letter to the future is an incredible achievement as it is a risky endeavor to ask a gamer to slow down and breathe in the world they have painstakingly created, but once you let go of your preconceived notions, it will uplift you with its profound narrative.

  • Season is mostly successful in the message it attempts to convey, although a more subtle approach to its main story would have done wonders compared to the forceful way that it is presented now. Don’t get us wrong, there is poetic beauty to be found in the narrative itself, but a whole lot of what Season wants to be feels counterintuitive to what it actually is.

  • It’s difficult to put into words my experience with this game. It offered a strange peace that was, all at once, a somber experience — one full of joy, sorrow, laughter, and regret. It explores the weight and comfort of memories, the impact they have on the world, and the importance of existence. It can be meandering at times, and some of the side characters’ voice acting pulled me out of the experience.

  • Gameplay is where SEASON: A Letter to the Future may lose most people. Its bicycle mechanic can begin to be more of an obstacle, than a feature. When it isn’t a biking sim, it is a walking sim. The game is entirely about self-exploration and understanding. It is an indie art house type of game, which isn’t attractive to some.

  • A lot of dialogue doesn't have to be a problem, but Season is quite one note. Unlike Sable or Lake, Season is humorless in its dialogue and not very playful in its exploration and the endless chatter really starts to drag things down. Its melancholy tone is potent but without any respites of joy or warmth, Season starts to feel like a parody of itself.

  • A wonderful exploration of a world that is recognizable yet foreign. Fantastical ideas mix with the ordinary in a beautiful bacdrop. this melancholy act of remembrance might not play to action fans but it's a truly evocative exploration of loss and change.

  • SEASON: A letter to the future is a beautiful and ethereal gaming experience about what is both permanent and impermanent in our lives. I was satisfied with the conclusion my particular journey took, finding the game to be genuinely moving and inspiring in unexpected ways. SEASON: A letter to the future is one journey adventure game fans will want to experience.

  • Season: A Letter to the Future is a rush of emotions. You’ll feel happy, lonely, or even scared at any given time. It plays on the player’s curiosity and rewards those who take the time to explore.

  • Overall the game is a great indie production and one that will enchant the people who are into games revolving around questions about the meaning of our existence. It is a beautifully crafted walking simulator, with a unique atmosphere and some memorable moments, but no replay value at all.
