- Don’t let Sairento VR fool you early on or dissuade you with its steep learning curve. Let the campaign reshape you in just how you tackle it. Let go of this being a simple horde challenge and buy into it being a type of dance. A dance where you perform a 10-minute symphony of death, stringing together kills in a ballet, leaving corpses behind you in the most glorious of ways. My advice? Take the red pill.
Todd Eggleston · Sep 11, 2019 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Sairento is a game that most PSVR owners should check out. It feels like the exact kind of title we’ve been waiting for. No other game on the system feels quite like this. Bullet time, sliding, triple jumping, and the gunplay all combine to give the player a rush like nothing else. The swordplay left much to be desired, but everything else more than made up for it. If you can battle through the first few awkward hours with the controls, and deal with the flimsiness of the world, you’ll have a great time.
Rhett Waselenchuk · Aug 29, 2019 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Is Sairento VR a masterpiece of technical innovation? Far from it. But despite its obvious visual and mechanical shortcomings, the game knows what it does well and takes every opportunity double-down on delivering this experience. You will find very few games on the PSVR that can provide a combat experience this frenetic, kinetic, and goddamn amusing. If you’re looking to take a slice out of crime and indulge your inner ninja, this one’s a cut above the rest.
Blake Grundman · Aug 20, 2019 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Sairento VR clearly focuses on gameplay. It is the most rewarding and badass game I have played in terms of combat and movement, and it's something that everyone should experience in VR if they have the chance. It's a gameplay sandbox that does enough to make you feel in control and gives you the opportunity to test different weapon combinations and relics to become an ultra-mobile ninja-killing machine. That may not hide the fact that it looks basic and is quite repetitive in terms of enemies, level design and mission objectives.
Andreas Salmen · Jul 31, 2019 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It’s worth putting up with these glitchy moments, though, because Sairento VR is such a ridiculous, over-the-top joy to play and once you’re done with the campaign mode, the game’s additional challenge levels and multiplayer mode will keep you occupied. Sairento VR the closest thing you’ll get to a truly interactive, immersive action movie, and if you’ve invested in a PSVR you’d be mad to miss it.
Chris Mc · Jul 12, 2019 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - There’s a huge amount of depth in its gameplay and every moment can be dealt with in whatever way makes you happiest. Dive in with the sword, dual-wield pistols, break out the sniper rifle, toss kunai around or machine-gun everything that moves. If you can combine speed, grace and firepower, there’s not an enemy out there that can stand against your ninja might.
James Cunningham · Feb 10, 2018 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Sairento VR is pretty solid VR release that's a little rough around the edges but it should appeal to anyone looking for fast-paced action or who just wants to be a ninja.
Paul Younger · Feb 08, 2018 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Sairento VR is a game with a ton of stuff to do and some really fun core gameplay elements, but it just doesn’t feel like it all comes together well in the end. There’s a lack of meaningful depth, some glaring repetition, and a general lack of polish that holds this action-packed romp from truly achieving VR greatness.
David Jagneaux · Feb 07, 2018 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Locomotion is so simple that even most novice of players will have no trouble pulling off dazzling moments of style. The healthy amount of content in terms of weapons, upgrades, and game modes only kept me going back for more. If future updates can deliver some necessary quality-of-life improvements, then Sairento VR will likely take the place as the game you show off to your friends when they come over and ask to check out your virtual reality system.
Felix Wong · Jan 17, 2018 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Sairento VR is a diamond in the rough, but because the action is so engaging the lack of polish never takes centre stage, its many distractions, mission types, and upgrade trees conveniently diverting you from its technical shortcomings. If you’ve ever wanted to feel as though you’re in The Matrix, dodging bullets and laying waste to dozens of would-be assailants with a nonchalant flourish, this is the nearest current technology allows.
