  • The biggest take away from this Nintendo Switch port of Saints Row IV is the words "outright fun". The fun is enhanced with a chock full of humour, sometimes a bit lewd, and memorable laugh-out-loud scenarios, encounters and moments. Mix in some RPG elements that include fun "superpowers" and you have a game even fans new to the Saints Row franchise can enjoy! It's well worth the price tag of $39.99 USD!

  • Saints Row IV: Re-Elected is a logical continuation for such a nonsensical series. Despite some issues with mission structure and some signs of age, this is still a very good superpowered thrill ride of presidential proportions.

The only way I could see saying pick this version up is if you have no other avenue to play it. It’s still a fun ride, but the price of admission is steep for something that a) came out seven years ago and b) doesn’t have everything in it but is still charging more for it. The choice is yours, but I would wait until we get a price drop that is equal to the other versions of this game.

  • So, sure, it might be starting to show its age a little in places, but Saints Row IV is still a great way to cut loose and enjoy the fun that unbridled chaos and a childish sense of humor can bring. And the extra content you get in the Re-Elected edition that just released on the Nintendo Switch means you can enjoy it for even longer as you play through everything Deep Silver threw at the swan song of the main Saints Row series.

  • If you’re a long-time fan of the franchise and didn’t love the total deviation from the first few games, now might be the time to pick it up and try it again; if you’re new to the series, you’re in for a dramatically deranged treat. At this point, if you enjoy wild rides like Netflix’s Tiger King (literally that level of absurdity) and you enjoyed Infamous, give The Saints Row IV: Re-Elected a whirl. Who knew saving the human race could be so ridiculously fun?

  • Playing Saints Row 4 for the first time since launch, I realized how much I miss this goofy series, and even if I hardly laugh at its alternating bathroom and slapstick humor, Saints Row 4 remains a fun open world to explore — and explode.

  • The rest of the game is merely competent at best. If the humor had been a bit more solid, or the story had a more distinct identity, it might be worth putting up with the rough edges. Sadly, Saints Row IV: Re-Elected would probably be better off getting primaried.

  • All in all, although the Switch port of Saints Row IV still features framerate issues and isn’t exactly a pretty game. However, it compensates by being hilarious, chock-full of content, and incredibly fun. The sole act of fooling around the map with your superpowers, wreaking havoc, and killing everyone in sight, will entertain you for hours.

  • Saints Row IV: Re-Elected comes with all of that fantastic, over the top DLC with insane weapons, new story missions, and tons of cosmetic options. As a story, this wild experience is still refreshing and incredibly charming while keeping true to its raunchy, adult themes. The pop culture references on display are shameless and simply add to the charm of the series.

  • It’s just as much fun here as anywhere. Frankly though, even if you have played it before, it remains a wonderfully joyous experience. Saints Row IV: Re-Elected‘s over-the-top antics, larger-than-life characters and superpower-focused gameplay make it one of the most ludicrous ways to waste away a decent number of hours. And in these trying times, perhaps that’s what we all need.
