  • And then there’s the online multiplayer, which is completely barren of anyone actually playing the game, and the “remix” modes which speed the game up (not fun at all) and give you only one life (definitely not fun either). What we’re left with is a concept which sounds great on paper, but leaves a hell of a lot to be desired in execution.

  • However, it’s still a sub-par platformer with a musical twist, and one that doesn’t add much appeal beyond being minutely neat.

  • Unfortunately, not much else can be said. Rush Bros is a thoroughly mediocre platformer. The best reason to purchase it is, in fact, the soundtrack, which is probably worth the price of admission. If you buy it looking for an innovative platformer or exciting music game, you will be disappointed.

  • The racing aspect adds a lot of drama to multiplayer matches, while the desire to complete stages with minimal mistakes and deaths due to them drives the single player aspect. Rush Bros. came out of nowhere, but is a very polished game worthy of any gamer’s time.

  • I don’t want to completely dissuade people from checking out this game. If you’re a fan of high-energy rhythm games, and you have friends that are too, I recommend you take a look at Rush Bros. If you’re looking for a platforming game with some interesting elements, there are many more games out there that do what Rush Bros does and then some. This one’s worth a look, at the very least.

  • Unfortunately, Rush Bros. lacks diversity, and custom soundtracks don't vary the gameplay to a satisfying degree. The available stages are passable, but you'll likely tire of them within a few hours because they're not sufficiently dynamic.

  • Overall, Rush Bros. just isn't fun. The platforming is bland and uninspired, the multiplayer feels more like simultaneous single player, and the rhythm-based elements are almost an afterthought. Though the idea of a platformer that runs on custom soundtracks is a grand one, the execution here is extremely disappointing.

  • Overall, Rush Bros is a great game if you want to have some fun or have a good laugh with one of your friends, but not really good for much else. It's also not one that you can play for a long time. However, it's not expensive and with there being a two pack bundle available on steam, you could buy one for a friend, so it's worth it if you want to just kill some time.

  • Rush Bros is one of those games that had the potential to be a really unique gaming experience, but ultimately drops the ball down the stretch. The game promises to be a fun Super Meat Boy-style platformer, but with a twist. The most interesting feature of Rush Bros is the ability to import your own music into the game, which will then create unique levels and challenges based upon your tracks, but even this falls short. These concepts all sound appealing to the ear, but Rush Bros is filled with several flaws that prevent it from delivering on its potential.

  • Utterly generic and full of needless frustration. Multiplayer element is supposed to be core game experience, but feels tacked-on and gimmicky. Rush Bros. is a game with many good ideas. If only they'd been executed properly.
