  • This diluted edition of Resogun isn’t exactly a spectacle on the Vita, but it’s still a thoroughly entertaining game. The cut-down framerate means that the arcade action isn’t quite as tight as on the PS4, but it’s still exceedingly enjoyable in short bursts. With cross-buy support and a fresh set of Trophies to obtain, this portable port is more than deserving of a place on your handheld’s memory card – just don’t expect to be blown away all over again.

  • Resogun has transferred perfectly to PlayStation Vita and will provide players with hours upon hours of fun and frustration. Any fears of performance issues with the Vita version have been crushed and it is an absolute must own for any Vita owner. Resogun doesn't only play amazingly on Vita, it feels at home on Vita.

  • It's a game where focus is rewarded, and as such there's a welcome emphasis on using the PS4's hardware to relay information to the player without compromising their concentration, such as the pad-based speaker barking instructions. It’s one of a number of smart changes introduced by Resogun to a genre that relies heavily on repetition, helping ensure that this ridiculously intense game is a pleasure to restart over and over again. Easily my pick of the launch titles.

  • Resogun blends old-school shooter gameplay with next-gen visuals and a few modern twists to create one of the most compelling games I’ve played in ages. It’s the best game on PS4.

It’s gorgeous; Resogun draws on its host hardware’s graphical capabilities to make you feel like the most powerful entity in the room. ...Admittedly, voxels serve an aesthetic purpose and don’t impact gameplay directly, but Housemarque’s conjured something we’ve never seen before. Surely that’s the baseline promise we expect to see honoured in any next-gen game.

  • Put simply, Resogun is a must-download title, and its inclusion in the PS Plus Instant Game Collection makes it the perfect download for any new PS4 owner. The experience is vivacious and engaging even when topping the leaderboards isn’t your agenda. The retro influence is strong, and the experience that Housemarque has with the Super Stardust series makes this next-gen arcade outing a perfect retrofit.

  • We need more games like Resogun. Housemarque have once again proven that they’re the masters of innovation through old school design. It’s a stunning game, and perhaps one of the best to show off your new hardware. It’s rhythmic, satisfying, hardcore and ultimately a joy to play, and well worth as many hours of your time as it can steal.

  • Resogun is short, but considering the challenge, an added online co-op mode, and a reliance on besting high-scores that you’ll actually feel compelled to beat, there’s plenty to keep you busy. The controlled, yet utter chaos on-screen is satisfying, calls for the perfect balance of strategy and skill, and rewards the player through great gameplay. ...Resogun is well worth paying for and can stand up against any of the AAA retail games available at the PS4’s launch in terms of sheer enjoyment alone.

  • Much has been made of Resogun's visuals, and with good reason! The voxel-based graphics are an excuse to throw hundreds of particles and cubes around the screen in colorful showers. ...Resogun's pretty graphics and sometimes excessive effects make it look like a tech demo, but its refined action and subtle intricacies quickly put such notions to death. This is a thrilling and challenging shooter that just so happens to demo the tech quite well!

  • Housemarque hasn’t missed a beat since their Super Stardust days. Fans of their previous games will not be disappointed, whether purchased or downloaded as part of the PlayStation Plus promotion. There’s not a lot of must-have games for the PS4 at this point, but Resogun is one of, if not the, game that you simply must play on the new console. Weird, I know, but smaller independent games might be the can’t miss experiences on the platform.
