It is a beautiful game, one that evokes images of various Disney/Pixer type worlds and just as vivid. Each of the worlds offer side quests and various characters to interact with that was all enjoyable. Aside from the easy combat I enjoyed my time with Ravenlok and if you are looking for a quick fantasy adventure, I can’t recommend it enough.

  • Ravenlok won’t be to everyone’s liking, but it’s a thoroughly enjoyable experience when you’re looking for a palette cleanser in between so many of the other AAA RPGs in the market right now. Sometimes it’s nice to get away from a massive hundred hour epic adventure, and have a short jaunt with something fun and whimsical. Hardcore gamers will likely find its shallow gameplay lacking, but it’s the perfect game to introduce younger children to for their first fantasy adventure. Ravenlok won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I was happy to partake in this tea party.

  • Ravenlok is a great introductory experience for players who might be interested in the action-adventure genre but don’t want to take on the bigger titles in the genre. The story is familiar but mostly works, with some nice characters. The voxel graphics are a big initial draw.

  • Ravenlok could certainly serve as an introduction to the genre. The controls are simple and the environments are beautiful. The main character and narrative are straightforward and relatable. Experienced gamers might be put off by the intentional lack of depth in combat and movement, but even for them, this short game might be worth playing just for the art and imaginative characters and world.

  • Ravenlok was a simple adventure game, but a really fun one. We were disappointed the game was over so quickly, as we wanted to explore the Kingdom of Dunia further. While some of the game’s mechanics were a bit barebones, the fairytale-like charm made up for a lot, and we simply adored many of the world’s inhabitants.

  • Ravenlok is a charming fairytale voxel adventure game that features a decent variety of enemies and puzzles. Despite the lackluster storyline, it's a fairly short game that's worth playing with its simple combat mechanics easily accessible for everyone. Although Ravenlok might not appeal to players that prefer a challenge, this simple action-adventure title will certainly eat up your afternoon.

  • Overall, Ravenlok is a fun break from the saturated AAA open-world landscape we live in today. I spent around eight hours in Ravenlok, and it is what I would call a “weekend title”: a game that players can finish quickly or one for individuals who don’t have a lot of time available. Ravenlok isn’t meant to be an expensive or overly long game. The game’s shortcomings aside, I enjoyed exploring and navigating throughout the kingdom. It’s available via Xbox GamePass, an excellent place for it to call home.

  • It may be a little monotonous and unambitious, but the adventure is over well before it can overstay its welcome. Ravenlok feels like a nice piece of fluff that’s polished and genre-heavy enough to be fun, but won’t address any cravings for the next big game in your stack.

  • Ravenlok is brimming with charm and character, delivers a light story that you can get through in an afternoon, and while the combat is extremely shallow it doesn't overstay its welcome. If you enjoy the reward of checking boxes off a list as you explore a magical world then Ravenlok might just be the next game for you.

  • It’s kid-friendly, both in tone and difficulty, but pales in comparison to other games aimed at the younger crowd. Like the very finest porcelain tea sets, it’s best left on the shelf to be admired, rather than brought out to entertain at the party.
