- Rainbow Moon may not be for everyone but those who really get into it will love it a lot so I definitely recommend it to anyone who has an affinity for slow-paced SRPG adventures and doesn't mind grinding in order to unlock their full potential.
A.J. Maciejewski · Apr 09, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Overall, Rainbow Moon is a massive RPG experience that is worth checking out. Once you truly get into the experience of playing this game, you will be astounded by just how much content there is packed into its unassuming exterior. I am nowhere near the reported 100-plus hours of play time that Rainbow Moon promises from start to finish, but I am impressed by how little I am tiring of it after the many hours I have played.
Patrick Anderson · Feb 28, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It’s like a badge of dishonor for me to write this review without seeing the main campaign to its completion, but the more I forced myself to play a title that just wasn’t for me, I felt a sense of spite hovering over me for the title which it didn’t deserve as it’s a fully functioning, albeit mediocre, piece of gaming.
Jae Lee · Dec 18, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Rainbow Moon is a memorable game. Its compelling RPG elements and careful attention to detail will leave you wanting more – despite its already extraordinary length. Beautiful landscapes, enjoyable music, epic battles, and endless customisation ensure that this release remains a joy for many, many hours. It also happens to be a perfect match for the Vita, and a great travel companion.
Cale Stolle · Dec 06, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - The game certainly provides value for money, given how long it can last. As I said SideQuest has created a game that ticks all the right boxes when it comes to the technical and execution side of things, but the story pacing isn’t good, and something I hope the studio got right for Rainbow Skies.
Aran Suddi · Dec 04, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - The portability of Rainbow Moon makes the game that much more attractive, allowing for addictive grinding in convenient spurts that the PS3 version couldn't allow. The retro presentation and leveling systems work in tandem extremely well, even if the narrative-less grind to max level will take a while.
Timothy Nunes · Dec 04, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - SideQuest studios have made an attempt at a massive strategic role-playing game, complimented by strong game-play, a likable sound track and a charming art style. It's already the perfect game for role-playing fans and people who like to grind out in-game item collections across consoles.
Yuuki · Dec 02, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Rainbow Moon is not going to be a bad game for players who like to grind or players who like to explore. There’s a lot to do in the game, and the world of Rainbow Moon looks great. The battle system and the amount of time players will spend in battle will be hit-or-miss.
Russell Ritchey · Nov 28, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Rainbow Moon contains an astonishing amount of content for a $15 game, but it doesn’t do much outside of its PS3 counterpart. SideQuest Studios had ample opportunities to implement some of the Vita’s technological advanced capabilities into their game, but for whatever reason, they elicited to just give us a straight port.
Adam Beck · Nov 20, 2013 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Rainbow Moon is an in-depth game with nice visuals. It offers plenty of game time to those who are familiar with the RPG genre, but I also believe it would not deter those who are not familiar to games of this ilk. Battles can be a chore to begin with, but with time, Rainbow Moon shines through.
