- Raging Bytes is a bit on the easy side, and not at all scary for a survival horror title set in a zombie apocalypse, but I have to give credit where credit is due: I had way more fun with it than I could have ever imagined, and was really intrigued with its simple, but effective story. Its combination of JRPG combat and zombie apocalypse themes is something rarely, if ever, seen in games, so I also have to commend the developers for the game’s overall originality. It might be a depressing tale of survival in post-apocalyptic America, but it was a pretty cozy and relaxing JRPG, one that ended up fitting perfectly on the Nintendo Switch.
Leo Faria · Jul 09, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Raging Bytes is a post-apocalyptic turn-based RPG where we embark on a journey to reunite lost families and search for civilization throughout a zombie-filled world.
GITM · Jun 17, 2023 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Even though Raging Bytes offers an array of characters and a plot line that is interesting and interactive, the players can’t solely survive with weapons and health. The turn-based pacing of the game can bring forth a weaker zombie, which can be dangerous. If you get one dangerous hit, it will take a considerable number of resources to revive again. There are two possible endings, and the game features both in one play-through.
TAMANNA CHANDEL · Jun 11, 2023 Reviewed on AndRead full review - Raging Bytes can be enjoyably tense, but the most fun comes from the chance to spot all the references than as an actual game. The gameplay is adequate, without ever breaking into the realms of “must play”, but it is a good way of killing a few hours.
Paul Renshaw · Jul 03, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Raging Bytes is a 2D pixel-art RPG game about a group of unlikely survivors looking for others in a zombie-filled world. It combines classic RPG elements with the brutality of the zombie theme in creative, challenging, and engaging ways. It can be a bit too brutal which makes it hard for you and your characters to feel empowered. The story may be the usual, but there's good gameplay and personal elements for you to take a raging bite.
