- The game manages to be fresh throughout the entire experience, and avoids the pitfalls of becoming repetitive at every turn. Q.U.B.E. is a must play for puzzle enthusiasts, and for anyone who is looking for a fun challenge.
Matt West · Sep 11, 2015 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - Q.U.B.E. Director’s Cut is a decent game. The puzzles often require lateral thought, which is exactly what many players are looking for with this sort of game. There’s replay value in the special race against the clock, as well as hidden areas that you may not normally discover. While it’s not a story based extravaganza that many expect in this age, it’s still an enjoyable release for those that are fond of the genre.
Joe Merrick · Sep 03, 2015 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - Q.U.B.E. has a cerebral swagger that is hard not to like. Add in the new narrative and time trial mode, and the Director's Cut is an enjoyable challenge that comes recommended.
Daniel New · Aug 27, 2015 Reviewed onRead full review - The music and voice acting is great and the puzzles clever. Glitches in the physics and difficulties in working camera angles and timing elements into puzzle solving definitely detracts from the experience though.
Alexandria Taberski · Aug 22, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Q.U.B.E. deserved a second chance to get noticed, and now console owners have the opportunity to experience this cerebral puzzle game. I admit I missed it the first time around and absolutely had a blast with it. I highly recommend it to those that enjoy titles such as Portal. I hope someday to see a sequel, and next time I will be there day one to experience the solitary excellence firsthand.
Ken McKown · Aug 04, 2015 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Overall, Q.U.B.E. is a great puzzler that is both fun and challenging without delving too far into the ‘too complicated’ area that most puzzlers love to go to. There are some issues with the tacked on feel of the game and the length, but the new time trial maps add to the amount of gameplay you get. While it is short, it is also very affordable and the PSN allows for play on both PS3 and PS4 with a purchase, so that’s another big plus for the game.
Doug Mercer · Aug 04, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - The time trials included in the Director’s Cut edition are, as expected, counterintuitive. Puzzles and time trials just don’t mix. The only way to approach them is to fail them until you figure out the solution, then ace them in a fraction of the allotted time, which completely obviates the time limit. Racing for a new record is boring for the same reason. The many secret puzzles tucked into the core game are far more enjoyable.
Austin Wood · Jul 28, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Whichever path you choose, it’s difficult to deny that Toxic Games has created something that is both durable and genuinely compelling. Smart, sketchy but pacy, Q.U.B.E: Director’s Cut is more than worth the price of admission, regardless of format.
gamesTM · Sep 19, 2015 Reviewed on - Q.U.B.E. Director's Cut suffers from an identity crisis. While its brand of puzzling is unique and enjoyable, the overall package is disjointed, lacking, and, ultimately, has been done better. It's easily recommendable to puzzle obsessives and fans of Portal's atmospheric storytelling, but it fails to stand out in its own market.
Lex Firth · Sep 15, 2015 Reviewed on Wii URead full review - Q.U.B.E.: Director's Cut on PlayStation 4 is filled with a wide variety of puzzles that are enjoyable, yet nowhere near as interesting or challenging as some of the greats of the genre. The recently announced sequel will hopefully take the promising premise the game sets up and produce something with more challenge, with bigger scope, and basically make everything a little less forgettable.
