  • Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare stays true to its roots.... The gameplay is rock solid, the music and visuals are adorable, and, while the release’s multiplayer focus won’t appeal to everyone, it’s a finely pruned package overall. PopCap deserves credit for taking an existing concept, and making it blossom all over again.

I can’t recommend it enough for even the most jaded gamer. I have spent countless hours with the title, and still play it months after release, which is more than I can say for almost every shooter ever released on a console. The rush of games is coming, but before you get lost in a sea of endless releases, you should definitely check out this lovable third-person shooter.

  • Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is a game that should not go unappreciated. There’s a little something for everyone here and even if you don’t particularly enjoy online shooters, you ought to give this one a shot. ...It is an amazingly fast, fun, and deep title, and with persistent support going forward, I can only see Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare continuing to get better for the community.

  • Beyond the inclusion of the microtransactions within the game there is little else I had an issue with. Origin still has some work to do rooting out hackers, but they were only an issue within about three of the (probably) nearing-one-hundred games I played. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is easily one of the best games I have played this year. It’s a fun, boisterous, spirited shooter that never for a second lets you forget how adorable it is.

  • This is a game I'm going to be playing with my friends months from now. So if (and that's a big “if”) you've got the internet connection and the stomach for nasty DRM, Garden Warfare is a no-brainer.

I can’t say the same thing for other shooters, as I constantly find myself wanting to quit after a few matches. In PvZ, I wanted to keep playing, even if I died a million times. Garden Warfare is an easy game that can be picked up by anyone and enjoyed for hours at a time, even if there are only a limited amount of game modes.

Sadly, any gains made here are squandered by woolly controls, a dearth of feedback and infuriating inaccuracy even with aiming assist dialed up to maximum. There’s the seed of something much greater in PopCap’s first foray into team shooters, but it’s telling that the elements that most closely resemble the series’ 2D outings are the ones that fare best.

  • Popcap and EA have created a beautfiul looking, fun to play game with tons of charm. Matches when my team are losing are still a blast to play, which is hard to say for most games. After playing many levels and getting to Level 20, unlocking tons of customization options and a few extra characters, I can not wait to get back to the game and see what my next pack of cards unlocks. This game is accessible to gamers of all ages and can be perfected by dominating teamwork. Plants Vs Zombies Modern Warfare is a must own for shooter fans and PvZ fans out there.

  • All-in-all, Garden Warfare is a fairly unremarkable experience. The gameplay is fun, but it’s definitely also derivative of elements we’ve seen executed better elsewhere. That’s not to say there aren’t some interesting aspects. There just aren’t enough to make it stand strongly on its own. Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare isn’t a bad game, it’s just not a very inventive one despite its catchy premise.

  • It's not perfect from a balance or technical standpoint, but these shortcomings shouldn't keep you from giving it a chance to win you over. The first time you're taken out by a Sunflower's devastating laser, only to watch it skip away into a hail of peas and flaming footballs – and you find yourself laughing instead of pouting – you'll be hooked.
