Critic Reviews
- Plants vs. Zombies is a classic garden-themed tower defense game by Popcap Games that infected everyone’s PCs back in 2009 before it got ported to mobile and re-published by EA.
CaptainQQ · Jun 16, 2022 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Build an army of 49 plants to attack 26 varieties of zombies in 50 frantic levels. Supported by ads, this version of the game is a great way to get stuck into what becomes a complex strategy adventure for free. It's a humorous treat.
Peter Warrior · Mar 19, 2013 Reviewed on - While there's not much in the way of new content, it's nearly impossible not to recommend this Vita release as it's among the best versions of the game to date. Not only does the game fit the PlayStation Vita like a glove, it's still one of the most engaging tower defence games ever crafted and the perfect game for those times when you want something you can quickly get into and play.
Corbie Dillard · Mar 28, 2012 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - Plants vs. Zombies is an interesting balance of casual and ‘core gameplay that’s already charmed thousands of players on other gaming platforms. I can’t argue with its established popularity. Its transition onto the Vita shows that Sony isn’t afraid of repurposing an older hit which, while not necessarily technically impressive, does offer solid gameplay with broad appeal. Personally, I’d prefer something a little fresher on my Vita though.
PSU Staff · Mar 08, 2012 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - The game itself is a faithful port. A port that looks better than ever due to the Vita’s OLED screen. The adorable zombies, slowly encroach upon the angry defensive plants in an all-out war. For those of you who have never played the game before, it’s part puzzle, part tower-defense-ish, 100% great time. It’s approachable for kids and adults alike, and is easy enough to master, but deep enough for serious strategy.
Anthony Severino · Feb 22, 2012 Reviewed on VitaRead full review - This game is insanely fun, hilarious and addictive plus will keep you coming back for more. Casual gamers to advance will enjoy the replay value it offers; even the kiddies. Definitely a “Must Have” game.
Antonio Wells · Jun 06, 2011 Reviewed on And - Plants Vs. Zombies is another must-have game for the iPhone/iPod Touch, especially at the more-than-acceptable asking price of three bucks. It's a limited time offer, so don't miss out. This is a battle for the ages.
Robert Workman · Feb 11, 2011 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Controls are just as easy to pick up on the 360 controller as they are on other platforms. If you've somehow missed the previous versions, the inclusion of co-op and multiplayer makes the 360 version of Plants vs. Zombies a worthy selection.
Annette Gonzalez · Sep 28, 2010 Reviewed on X360 - If you've never played Plants vs. Zombies before, then this is - wait for it - a no-brainer. The game is an amazing gigglefest of unbridled fun, overflowing with game modes and replayability. You don't have be a fan of tower defense to love every last minute of it, either. If you've already played plenty of PvZ, though, it's a bit trickier. The Versus mode strikes a perfect balance of challenge, skill, and smacktalk, but it's probably not enough to justify a repurchase all by itself.
Susan Arendt · Sep 22, 2010 Reviewed on X360Read full review - For all its humor, endless replay value and subtle, accessible strategy, it's no wonder that Plants vs. Zombies remains one of the best games to come out of the casual gaming market. The Xbox Live Arcade version is a capable port which carries across the fun of the title brilliantly. If you've been waiting for the game to arrive on a console before taking the leap, you will not be disappointed.

Stem a Zombie Attack on Your Yard!
A mob of fun-loving zombies is about to invade your home, and your only defense is an arsenal of 49 zombie-zapping plants. Use Peashooters, Wall-nuts, Cherry Bombs and more to slow down, confuse, weaken and mulchify 26 types of zombies before they can reach your front door. Each zombie has its own special skills, so be careful how you use your limited supply of greens and seeds… as you battle the fun-dead, obstacles like a setting sun, creeping fog and a swimming pool add to the challenge.
