  • I don’t know how I could not recommend Pikuniku to you. Even if cursory surveys of its look put you off, once you begin playing I bet it will suck you in. It’s so fun, so crisp, so smooth, so accessible, and so engaging an experience that anyone is more likely than not to love it. With a short playtime, it will not demand too much of your schedule, either. I can wholeheartedly recommend it if you’re itching for a pleasant entertainment experience.

  • Pikuniku is an entertaining distraction, a wonderful game world to romp around in. And when you’ve finished the entire story in a day or three of casual play, you can look forward to restarting it with your inventory intact and exploring all the nooks and crannies to find what you missed before, and going back to finding Ernie, and kick, kick, kicking him back up through the tunnels and back to safety. Tell him I said, “Hi.”

  • Pikuniku is an odd game, yes, but it is a fun, relaxing one to boot. There are few better ways to spend an afternoon than in its colorful, quirky world. It may not be long but you’ll have a big, dumb smile on your face the whole time; a pure realization of quality over quantity.

  • Pikuniku is a fun puzzle game based in a fascinating dystopian world. It’s look and feel gives it a charming aesthetic that draws you in, and its solid controls coupled with balanced puzzles makes you stay a while. A funny campaign that has some true laugh out loud moments, but sometimes has vague mission objectives forcing you to wander around aimlessly until you stumble upon the next step.

  • It would have been nice if Pikuniku was longer and had a bit more to its story, if only because it means spending more time with its interesting and charming world. Still, what we have is a fun blend of physics-based gameplay, traditional platforming, exploration, eye-catching art and a fun cast that makes for one cute, highly-enjoyable experience. It’s a quick little romp through a gleefully bizarre world that you won’t regret checking out.

  • It also gives you chance to go and enjoy the freshly-saved, evil-free world, chat to the locals, and generally feel good about saving them all. More than that, though, with nothing left to complete, We’ve just been firing up Pikuniku and mucking about. It’s just such a nice, wholesome, cheerful place to be, and has a wonderful effect on your mood if you’re having a bad day.

  • Pikuniku almost feels like playing through an episode of Adventure Time. The writing is consistently brilliant, and without fail very entertaining. Off-the-wall humour isn’t always successful but when it’s done well it really does bring a world to life. The highlight for me in Pikuniku involved a toaster, which is all I’ll say on the matter. Honestly, it’s just a really fun game and you should play it. It is only a few hours of your time, and it’s sure to bring a smile to your face.

  • This puzzle-platformer’s puzzles and platforming might be merely alright – and the music is a proper irritant – but Pikuniku is full of so much cheer and loveliness elsewhere. It’s bursting with character in a story that’s equal parts silly and uplifting.

  • Since completing Pikuniku I’ve returned to it several times, both to bounce around the landscape and also complete the various side-tasks that I missed. Pikuniku is an eye-pleasing, entertaining outing that just oozes charm, with characters who are endearing without ever becoming irritating. If you want a game that will have you grinning with joy, then pick up Pikuniku.

  • It’s not a perfect experience. I got frustrated with the bridge repair section before accidentally finding the solution, and I completely forgot where to find a particular character I needed for a quest. For the latter I ended up using my screenshots to piece together the location info as nothing in-game reminded me.

About the game

Pikuniku is an absurdly wonderful puzzle-exploration game that takes place in a strange but playful world where not everything is as happy as it seems. Help peculiar characters overcome struggles, uncover a deep state conspiracy, and start a fun little revolution in this delightful dystopian adventure!
