  Persona 5 Strikers is a fantastic follow up to a beloved JRPG, carving out its own identity with an excellent action-based combat system. It presents the perfect excuse to hang out with the Phantom Thieves one last time, and does a great job of building upon the established characters and themes of its predecessor. While we doubt that Strikers will be remembered anywhere near as fondly as Persona 5, the game goes beyond expectations to provide a classy companion piece. A must-buy for existing fans.

  Way Too Many Games

  It takes what Age of Calamity did for Breath of the Wild (or at least tried to), and makes good on it. It does great honor to its original game, fixes its flaws, and, for me at least, does everything better. It ends up being to me, what Persona 5 seems to be to everyone else. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite MegaTen game, but it’s damn close. Your move, Shin Megami Tensei V.

  Regardless of the issues I had, Persona 5 Strikers is still a fantastic sequel, Persona game, and Musou game. It really is impressive the amount of content they jammed into this game, and the fact that they added way more to the mechanics than I thought they would was a great breath of fresh air.

  Persona 5 Strikers is proof that change isn’t always a bad thing. While it may not hold onto everything that made its forebear a phenomenon, the new elements it brings to the table more than make up for it, and show that the series’ future lies in more than just straight-forward turn-based JRPGs.

  To be fair, the game looks and sounds absolutely amazing and I’m already listening to the OST every day, but this is not your average Musou game. Strikers cleverly transform Persona 5 into an action RPG while retaining so much of what made the original great.

  Persona 5 Strikers is a game that will have you playing it for hours on end. A game that expands the Persona 5 mythos and is a welcome addition for those who want more adventures with the Phantom Thieves. If you are a fan of the game, there should be no hesitation on your part to get this game and enjoy it.

  This reviewer would look at other examples of this genre shift such as Hyrule Warriors or Fire Emblem Warriors and say that Persona 5 Strikers definitely went above and beyond to tell a Persona story with a fantastic blend of JRPG and Muso game styles that suits it, if not perfectly, pretty close!

  To put it plainly, everything that made Persona 5 great is still present in Strikers: wonderful writing, memorable characters, semi-complicated mechanics, and a hyper-addictive soundtrack. Though popular systems have been streamlined in Strikers, it all still fits well. The heavy reliance on past adventures might be a deterrent for newcomers, though it will delight returning players of the series. The more action-oriented combat feels fresh for the series.

  Persona 5 Strikers does a great job continuing what was an already great and established universe, without changing much, besides the battle formula. While there aren’t any mind blowing events in its story nor its gameplay, the game stays true to its legacy and roots.
