- Whilst offering up very little from its clear influences, Park Beyond is a fun and visually thrilling theme park sim that offers a central mechanic which gives it quite the edge in the genre. It’s still hair-tearingly frustrating in places but has enough creativeness and inventiveness about it to hold the attention of long-term theme park simulator fans.
Ross Keniston · Sep 25, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Although Park Beyond has the potential to become one of the greatest theme park simulators in recent memory, it’s not quite there yet. Technical issues are rampant, the control scheme is frustrating, and the campaign lacks any modicum of intended challenge. Where the game shines is with ride building and impossification, but right now these mechanics are wasted on the glitchy technical mess that the game is.
SebastiaanRaats · Jul 08, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Despite its veneer of limitless design possibilities, players are ultimately constrained in the types of attractions they can create and pursue during the campaign. While Sandbox mode is your best bet for getting creative with all the bells and whistles Park Beyond has to offer, it too is not immune to the myriad of glitches and technical issues present throughout the game.
Larryn Bell · Jun 30, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Park Beyond was on my list for most anticipated games of this year. Its potential to shake up the theme park management genre with its fresh, silly, and highly-unconventional style strikes as highly similar to how Two Point Hospital revitalized the brick-and-mortar building management genre.
Dan Lenois · Jun 28, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Theme park and coaster sims have come a long, long way since Rollercoaster Tycoon hijacked my free time. Park Beyond is a generally approachable and inviting sim that’s definitely not for the realism-minded. Its campaign is held back by an unpredictable and not well-explained economic model, but it’s pretty easy to get lost in the sandbox, enjoying the intentional impossibility of your creations.
Mark Steighner · Jun 27, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Park Beyond is a theme park simulation game from Bandai Namco that offers players a thrilling journey of creativity, strategy, and park management. The Impossification takes your park to the next level, making this a truly Amazing and Fun theme park building experience. The game does have a few bugs to be addressed, however, there’s so much to love here for newcomers and players returning to the genre that they can be easily overlooked once you get hooked.
Cassie Peterson · Jun 26, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Even with its twisted takes on nostalgic ride designs and copious whimsical fanfare, I was left feeling deflated by Park Beyond's business-oriented objectives and lack of investment in unbridled player creativity. For a game that endeavors to push the limits of your imagination, it's a little too concerned with whether you’re tall enough to ride.
Sarah Thwaites · Jun 23, 2023 Reviewed on PC - What you realize is how little Park Beyond has evolved the core formula, leaving its management systems feeling archaic. The creativity and freedom in creating rides and designing your park is lightyears ahead of what was possible in early sims, but the rough, buggy edges and lack of depth make even Park Beyond's strengths feel like style over substance.
Lewis Parker · Jun 23, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Park Beyond is in a better place now than when it first dropped into digital storefronts, but even if some of its glitches were fixed, something else hinders it even more: the lack of content available on basic versions of the game. There’s just not a lot in it to make a savefile last for more than half an hour at a time, with most of its content updates being planned as paid DLC, which is just unacceptable for a game as expensive as this one. The foundations for a fantastic theme park simulator are clearly present, and some free content updates would turn this into a bona fide hit, but as of now, this park isn’t ready for prime time.
Leo Faria · Jun 23, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Park Beyond will probably be pretty good one day, but it is not this day. Currently, it's a theme park building sim that doesn't include features that we'd consider to be a basic requirement of the genre, it's poorly balanced with systems that feel wildly misjudged, and it's also riddled with bugs and glitches that range from comical to pad-tossingly infuriating. Avoid it like Alton Towers during the school holidays.
