  • Overwatch remains a clear-cut top choice for anyone looking to pick up a competitive multiplayer shooter. Each hero brings a unique skill set to the table, which is impressive considering there are over 30 of them now. The core game modes are still as engaging as they were at launch, with the supplemental game modes adding variety when it’s needed.

Overwatch is a one-of-a-kind hero shooter that is far and away the best of its genre. It offers variety, depth, and style that very few come close to matching. Its four-year-old foundation has been lovingly crafted into the unparalleled multiplayer experience that it offers today. From its now-cherished characters and expertly crafted maps to outstanding sound design and dynamic action, it's a masterpiece of competitive gameplay.

  • In the end, Overwatch works well as a port. It's almost boring to talk about, as it aims to be as faithful to the existing versions as possible. It's not a technical marvel, and that may rightfully turn you off, but it's a feature-complete and portable version that is best for quick drop-in matches when you just want a casual match in Overwatch.

  • It's hard to say whether or not Overwatch on Switch should be recommended. It is still without a doubt a good game. But Overwatch has a reputation now as a competitive game, and this rendition just doesn’t match that. This is Overwatch but muted. Overwatch with kid gloves, if you will. If players are okay having a less serious, less strategic game, then this is a fun way of passing hours. But you won’t be playing it for the fame and glory you might get from other platforms.

  • Overwatch is an awesome looking game and a pretty good addition to the Nintendo Switch’s library and with more than enough content to keep any player busy for a long time. While versions on other platforms feel more precise, this Legendary Edition is worth the $39.99 cost if you’re a fan of the genre looking to play both at home or on the go.

  • Although the Switch version is a new way to play, it really doesn't add anything new to the game. If you were a fan before, you'll either want to play it again or you won't. But if you're a new player picking Overwatch up for the first time, then you'll very much enjoy the experience on Nintendo.

  • Actually, Overwatch seems to live on the multiplayer despite my objections to a lack of story mode. In all, Overwatch is a great hero shooter no matter where you play it.

  • Overwatch for the Nintendo Switch is one of the better third-party ports to hit the system so far, offering the complete experience of Blizzard Entertainment’s world-renowned first-person shooter on a portable device while not sacrificing a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. Though it is far from the definitive way to play the game, it’s surely a fine addition to the Switch library and a solid contribution to attract new and returning players in a comfortable and casual way.

  • The mileage of Overwatch on the Switch is going to vary. If you’ve never experienced the game before, now is the perfect time to do so. Playing it on the go is an added bonus if you’re used to playing shooters on the Switch anyway. As for existing players, the Switch version offers little to make this port worth shelling out for.

  • Overwatch on the Switch is still Overwatch, meaning that its newly added flaws are easier to forgive because of the sheer quality of the base experience. It has the same creatively designed cast that all play differently and a vibrant art style with fluid animation that’s all wrapped up in Blizzard’s signature impeccable presentation. Any form of the game is going to have that and why this slightly hobbled iteration remains a blast on a fundamental level.
