- 7.5 Overcooked! 2 is available now on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
· Jan 26, 2026 Reviewed on Switch 2Read full review - With simple controls, cute cartoon characters and vibrant kitchen designs, Overcooked! 2 is a great game for the whole family. But be warned, it can get competitive, even when you’re supposed to be working together. There will be people screaming ‘chop the onions’ or ‘I need some milk’, but it is all in good fun.
William Thompson · Jul 10, 2020 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Overcooked 2 is better than the first game, but yet again, there is room for improvement. Ghost Town Games is still trying to nail the recipe for the perfect local co-op party game, and perhaps it will succeed if it delivers a third title with more levels that drops some of the more frustrating elements and irons out the lingering technical issues.
Dalton Cooper · Aug 27, 2018 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Overcooked! 2 didn’t slake my hunger for additional Overcooked! goodness as much as I would have liked, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a dish worth remembering. Despite my issues with its proverbial over-salting, Overcooked! 2 still stands rather proudly as a fun, frantic, and well-made party game. And, while I don’t know that I would be as eager to dig back into this game as I was with the first (metaphorically speaking, anyway), I still enjoyed my first serving of it. You know, mostly.
Kenny McKee · Aug 17, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Overcooked 2 takes everything you know and love about the first game and kicks it up a notch to make a more satisfying and plentiful sequel. The kitchens are still the main highlight, boasting an insane amount of creativity and franticness. The new dishes are all great, and the new throwing mechanic, as well as a new combo meter, greatly enhance the overall Overcooked experience.
Anthony Bacchus · Aug 14, 2018 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Overcooked 2 much like its predecessor is a fun and chaotic experience that truly excels when played with a group. While you might argue this is just more of the same, there are enough tweaks and changes to the formula that help keep things fresh for returning players. A hard recommendation if you’re looking to operate your own kitchen, but gather some friends and you’ll be hard pressed finding a more exciting co-operative time on Switch.
Ryan Janes · Aug 12, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Overcooked! 2 is an improvement on an already outstanding dish. They took what was already fantastic about the first game and trimmed off just enough fat. The humor and the chaotic arcade action is better than ever and even though online, single player and VS will never replace local co-op, they are still very welcome options.
Todd Eggleston · Aug 08, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - The Onion Kingdom is bigger, better and more detailed than ever before. Overcooked! 2 takes its compelling concept to the next level through added mechanics, new additions and heaps of clever functionalities. The game’s difficulty may spike from time to time, but nevertheless, it goes without saying that Overcooked! 2 offers a robust co-op centric experience that rarely gets old, with online multiplayer to boot.
Mark Sherwood · Aug 07, 2018 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Its obvious caricatures aside, Overcooked 2 manages, above all else, to feel like working an actual busy restaurant job – you slave away for what feels like an eternity of non-stop, fast-paced work, certain you’re always miles behind where you should be, but then you count the tips at the end of the night and think “You know what? Not too bad.”
James Kozanitis · Aug 07, 2018 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Since its release in 2016, there hasn’t been a party I’ve gone to where I haven’t suggested we dust off Overcooked. Now that Overcooked 2 is released, I can’t wait to play this version with all my friends. Players will recognise its familiar chefs and recipes, but are sure to enjoy all of the brand new features its sequel has to offer.
